Huminator – humidity generator from TIS
general important information

- use only destilled water in the water tube on the back;

necessary to generate higher humidities than the ambient air

- never move or transport the Huminator with filled water tube / tank;
the water may destroy the motherboard and get into the evaporator

- the Huminator has got a drying container incl.

drying reagent on the back; necessary to dry the air to generate
lower humidities than the ambient air has

- a calibration in the Huminator requires a reference system;

e.g. a DKD-calibrated t650 or t400 with 1%-reference probe

slide 3

Drying container and drying reagent
- it is necessary to dry the drying reagent from time to time

- an indication is either when the colour changes, (from orange to white)

or if it is not possible to generate humidities lower than ambient conditions

- the procedure to dry the reagent is described in the manual

But be careful: do only dry the reagent, not the complete container!

Regeneration

The granules should be removed from the column and spread

evenly, one granule deep, on a tray. Heat for one hour at about
210°C up to 230°C or 400°F up to 445°F. The desiccant should
then be cooled in a tight container before refilling the acrylic unit.
Felt filters should also be pre-dried at 100°C for about 30 minutes
before assembly. Specify the acrylic model of the LABORATORY
GAS DRYING UNIT. Please consider the regulations according to
the safety data sheet of the respective substance.

Water in the chamber

- could occur in every generator running in high humidity and/or temperature ranges over a long time

- if the chamber is not stable anymore, there is only one chance:

interrupt the calibration, open the front plate and clean the chamber with a cloth

- to avoid this, do not cool from high to low temperatures in a fast way!

slide 5

adjustment of the Huminator
Adjustment at 11.3%RH and 75.3%RH at +25°C:

- it could be necessary to adjust the Huminator from time to time

- it is also very important to use a reference system for the adjustment to generate exactly
11.3%RH respectively 75.3%RH at +25°C

- the adjustment procedure is also described in the manual

calibration procedure in the Huminator
- regulate the temperature first until it is stable,
then turn on the humidity regulation to the desired value

- always start with the lowest temperature and/or humidity value

- set and save up to 5 different temperature / humidity combinations (pic.1)

- set up a time program up to 3 different temperature and humidity values (pic.2)

- program a wait time for each calibration point (pic.3)

Pneumator
pressure calibrator and
measuring instrument

slide 9
Pneumator – pressure calibrator and measuring instrument
calibrate differential pressure – in the lab or on-site
- differential and gauge pressure probes with low Pascal up to 1 bar range
- air velocity/volume flow: not directly calibratable but differential pressure calibration
e.g. testo 521, 512 or any other differential pressure measuring instrument
- choose between „CTRL“-mode (step-by-step) or „AUTO-mode “ (defined sequence)
- very short adjustment time (just a few seconds)
- high mobility: useable for 8 hours without mains supply (incl. pump function)

or
