Proposed Project Brief
THE PROPOSED PLAN
● Of the 51.5-acre land, 26 acres would be used for cricket stadium having
a seating capacity of 40,000 spectators and 2.5 acres for roads.
● Elaborate seating plans would include VVIP lounge, media lounge and
roofing above the entire pavilion.
● The remaining works, including construction of Olympics-level swimming
pool in 2.5 acres, 9 acres for hockey ground, two multi-storeyed parking
lots with a capacity of over 3000 vehicles and a five-star hotel, would be
carried out in subsequent phase.
● The parking sites would come up between the hockey and cricket
stadium.
● A tennis court would also come up adjoining to the existing hockey
stadium.
● There would be a provision of stay and an academy for the players at the
end farther from the cricket stadium.
● The roads surrounding the stadium would also be subsequently widened
and 70 new shops would be constructed in the periphery.
● As per the approved plan, the site of the cricket stadium would shift
towards DAVIET from its current location near the wall around DAV
College railway overbridge.
● The leisure valley and rose garden would remain untouched as per the
final plan taking into consideration the demand of residents.
● The earmarked hotel site is between leisure valley and stadium.
