Introduction: Textiles are no more limited for use as apparels clothing is just are
but not the only purpose of textiles with the rapid changes in the social economic
structure of our society. Many efforts are made to some and protect human
life. Textiles are used in a number of little known forms and less transparent
technical areas. Mobiltech textiles is one of them.
**So, at first the term “Technical Textile” comes in our mind and we have to
know what is technical textile.
According to the Textile Institute, ‘Textile materials and products manufactured
primarily for their technical and performance properties rather than aesthetic and
decorative characteristics are called as Technical textiles. Technical textiles are
reported to be the fastest growing sector of the textile industrial sector.
Classification of Technical Textile:
It indicates broad classification of technical textiles in 12 segments.
There are various applications of technical textiles and so there is a huge scope in
the field of technical textiles and the demand for these will increase day by day.

**Let’s move to the second point of this presentation.

Mobiltech: Mobiltech is one of the biggest fields of application for technical textiles
which is used in automotive or transport or aerospace sector. Mobiltech include cars,
trains, buses, airplanes and marine vehicles. Mobiltech covers not only isolation and
safety aspect but also focuses on comfort and style. The demand for majority of
Mobiltech products is dependent on the growth of both passenger cars and
commercial vehicles segments. The world biggest nonwovens manufacturer
estimates 42% of its sales tied to the automotive sector. Over the years, the Indian
automobile industry has emerged as one of the world’s largest sector.
Let’s move to the next point.

Filter: to balance filtration performance with desired cleanliness level & this level
is depends on filter efficiency of particle removal, contamination capacity or
pressure drop or resistance to flow through filter. Proper function of filter fabric is
very important.
Air filter: Air is vital to vehicles and with the resulting controlled explosion
provides power to vehicle, which is essential in removing contaminations such as
dirt particles, dust and debris from air penetrating through engine. The filter
stationed here is normally non-woven material.
Fuel filter: Water, fungus, bacteria, wax, sediment and other solids are major
contaminations in the fuel, water is greatest concern because it is most common form
of contaminant. The first petrol filter was made from wire mesh and although they
were efficient.
Cabin Air Filter: Dust diesel fumes and aromatic hydrocarbons can be even more
damaging to health; hence filters are very much necessary. The latest advanced
filters combine both mechanical filtering through polypropylene non-woven
electrets fabric.
Oil filter: Dirt is one of the major causes of engine wear. Dirt particles are extremely
abrasive and these particles are carried by oil into the precision clearance between
in these parts. Filter made from polyester needle were impregnated and are capable
of trapping contaminations.
**Thank You Everyone. I would like to invite the next presenter of our
presentation.

Application of Aerospace Textile:

Airplane Interiors: Inside the spacecraft and aircraft, various textile composites are
used for interior designing. From furnishing textiles to wall covering, floor carpet,
seat & seat belts, curtains and other interior designs are made of textile composites.
Leading technologies such as micro & Nano fibers, high-performance fibers,
polymers etc. have revolutionized the application of textiles in the interior design of
the aircrafts/spacecrafts.
Uniform of Pilot: Pilot uniform consisted of clothing such as leather bomber
jackets, khaki trousers, leather helmet, and boots. Because of such attire, pilots could
fly even during harsh weather conditions as cockpits used to be open back then. For
instance, pilots wore these bomber jackets with scarves to keep themselves warm.
Evacuation Slides: An evacuation slide is an inflatable slide used to evacuate an
aircraft quickly. In many modern planes, to reduce evacuation time, evacuation
slides deploy automatically when a door is opened in an "armed" condition. Modern
planes often indicate an armed condition with an indicator light.
Space Suit Costume: Generally, a spacesuit or “Extravehicular Mobility Unit-
EMU” (EMU) is a special arrangement of a set of protective clothing and equipment,
which ensures the astronaut’s safe position, navigation and survival in the hostile
environment inside and outside the spacecraft.
Parachutes: Parachutes are also a part of aerospace textiles. Parachute is kept as
protection material for the pilots, aviators and passengers of the aircraft. Parachutes
are made from different types of high-performance fibers such as Nylon, Polyester,
Kevlar, Nomex etc. Some important characteristics are UV, Heat and Abrasion
resistant, Water proof, High specific strength and light weight.
