1.0 OBJECTIVE
The objective of this Work Method Statement is to properly place and install the eaves lining as
the soffit of the pitch roof externally.

2.0 SCOPE OF WORKS

This sectional quality plan covers the setting out, finishing and quality of work which shall be in
accordance with the relevant construction drawings and specification.

3.0 LOCATION
Roof eave for all units of Block 17, 18, 19 and 20.

6.0 WORK METHOD STATEMENT

6.1 SURFACE PREPARATION

All steel frame is first battend with timber framing at 610mm center to center before fixing the
eaves lining.

6.2 SETTING OUT

The eaves lining is first arrange to achieve the best fit to avoid wastage and irregular size.
Fastener must not be placed less than 12mm from sheet edges and 50mm form corners.
Fastener should be driven at 200mm centers max around the perimeter of the sheet and
300mm centers max in the body of the sheet. Ensure that the fasteners are driven flush with the
surface of the sheet.

6.3 WATERPROOFING INSTALLATION EXECUTION

The eaves lining sheet hold into place steadily before it is fasten with screw using screwdriver
or drill. The step is repeated until the whole area is covered with the sheet. For aesthetic
consideration, sheet are joined closely one against another to give a neat butt joint. For sheet
that needs to be cut, measurement is taken using measuring tape and marked properly.
Circular saw is used to cut the sheet to ensure smooth and neat edge after cutting.

6.4 FINISHING
In order to achieve excellent aesthetic finishing, water based acrylic paint is used. 2 coats is
applied and left to dry naturally.

6.5 RFWI
The attached checklist form to be used to verify the quality of the work.

6.6 SHOP DRAWING

6.7SAFETY PROGRAMME

6.7 Wear PPE (safety helmet, safety shoe, safety vest & glove)
6.8 Ensure that the material can be safely procured, stored, used, and disposed of.
6.9 Inspection power tools.
6.10 Know the hazards associated with materials and tools you are using.
6.11 Be prepared for emergencies and know what action to take.
6.12 Know the location of safety equipment such as fire extinguisher, fire alarm, and
emergency telephone numbers.
6.13 Do housekeeping after work finish.

6.14 Using scaffold with good condition and inspected by scaffolder.
