INTRODUCTION

As time changes, online shopping is a more famous action in our life. The apartment
is a public living place which resignedly the space is not enough for the parcels place
currently. G4 Technology Company Sdn. Bhd. would like to submit this proposal regarding
the installation of the smart parcel lockers at Plaza @ Kelana Jaya Apartment. The smart
parcel locker will later be placed on the first floor of the apartment. The proposed project
costs approximately RM 112080. The time will be taken by this project is about 15 days.

COMPANY BACKGROUND

G4 Technology Company Sdn. Bhd. was founded on 1st October 2002 by Alson
Tang, Alvin Lee & Candy Lim. They are university friends and graduated from University
Tunku Abdul Rahman in 2001. The company is the biggest mechatronics production-type
company in Malaysia and is located at No. 20, Jalan Goh Hock Huat, 41400 Klang, Selangor.
There are approximately 2000 employees.

The mission of our company is to be a leader of smart parcels lockers company and
develop internationally to let everyone know about our Malaysian good products. The main
major focus product of the company is smart parcels lockers. The kind of smart parcels
lockers in our company already have more than 1000 and the functions are also improved to
30 more for example automatically send the email to the parcels receiver, refrigeration
function, etcetera. During the covid-19 pandemic, online shopping causes the number of
parcels to increase rapidly causing the increased demand for smart parcels lockers, our
company broke the record in 2020 that RM 100 million of the profits. Besides that, our
company also won the reward of The Most Outstanding Enterprise Malaysia Company
Award 2020.

Next, the biggest previous project of our company is in 2020. Our company and
Lifetree Company Sdn. Bhd. cooperated approximately RM 100,000 project for installation
of smart parcels lockers to the apartment of Lifetree Company Sdn. Bhd. in Klang, Kuala
Lumpur, Kajang, Kampar, and Ipoh.

On the other hand, G4 Technology Company Sdn. Bhd. is active in the development
of education in Malaysia. Our company has started to donate one million ringgit per year for
development education from 2017 till now.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

People all over the world altered their daily routines in nearly every way during the
"Year of the Coronavirus". Needless to say, a massive health and economic crisis results in
new shopping habits. More people are being forced to buy online because so many brick-and-
mortar businesses are closing down to ensure the safety of their customers and employees.
Even when government restrictions are lifted completely, many people still prefer online
shopping over purchasing from physical stores in their area. Due to increased online
shopping, the number of e-commerce parcels handled has expanded by double digits,
resulting in a massive influx of parcel deliveries.

Today’s consumers expect that purchases they make online will be delivered to their
door in as little time as possible. (Parcel Pending, 2019). Unfortunately, due to the covid-19
pandemic, delivery man is not permitted to enter the apartment without first consulting the
community rules and current SOP. Therefore, the parcels are delivered directly to front office
staff. Following that, those staff must log each parcel and notify each resident that their
parcels have arrived. When a resident receives a notification, they only have a certain amount
of time to pick up their parcels. The result of this process causes a lot of headaches and
getting parcels has become more difficult for most residents. The blame will eventually fall
on staff when a parcel is delayed in reaching a resident.

In addition, there are hundreds of residents receive multiple parcels throughout the
day. The front-office staff spending hours every day receiving, sorting, and distributing
parcels. The majority of front-office staff have no choice but to incorporate parcel
management into their daily routines. This requires not only the labour to handle the parcels,
but also storage space to keep them safe. On top of that, office staff will inevitably have
parcels go missing or suffer injuries, resulting in frustrated residents and staff who are forced
to resolve conflicts rather than do their jobs. Furthermore, complexes can be sued for injuries
resulting from package overflow. (Huentelman, 2019). This will put them under even more
strain.

The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person. It's possible that a
resident could contract COVID-19 by touching a virus-infected surface or object and then

touching their mouth, nose, or eyes. residents also can become infected through respiratory
droplets when an infected delivery man coughs, sneezes or talks. As a result, close contact
with delivery man, as well as touching surfaces touched or handled by someone who has
COVID-19, are all potential sources of exposure for residents.

Hence as the Glomac Berhad is dealing with a parcel overload crisis, G4 Technology
Company Sdn. Bhd. step in to propose a solution to this problem in the form of smart parcel
lockers as detailed in the following sections of the proposal.

PURPOSE OF PROPOSAL

In order to help the Glomac Berhad to overcome crisis, G4 Technology Company


Sdn. Bhd. is offering the Glomac Berhad to install 50 smart parcel lockers. Smart parcel
lockers are a type of storage solution that with built-in technology to make parcel delivery
and collection more convenient as well as faster. As a result, smart parcel lockers increase
apartment staff productivity by alleviating apartment staff burdens. Therefore, the apartment
staff can devote more time and attention to activities that will propel growth and improve
service. Besides that, smart parcel lockers promote safety and further eliminate the need for
any face-to-face contact. The residents can receive multiple parcels without having to interact
with the delivery man, apartment staff, or even other residents, due to contactless parcel drop-
off and collection. All smart parcel lockers are electronically logged that provide the
protections to parcels in the locker until it gets picked up by tenants successfully. This
reduces parcel loss and injury while also improving delivery accuracy.

PROPOSAL WORK PLAN

The company estimates that it will take one month to accomplish all the necessary work and
preparation for this project. This section outlines the numerous tasks that need to get done to
finish the project.

Approval and Planning Stage

Following the company's permission for the project to be undertaken. The company will also
obtain permission from the client to access the apartment. 

The company will begin preparing the precise locker that the client has ordered. In
addition, the corporation will start preparing shipping and delivery from the company to the
client's location. The company will ready six variety sizes of smart locker consoles which
have 50 consoles each for 100 houses of the tenant to fulfil different parcels be delivered to
the apartment. Following the preparation work is complete, the company will begin to
prepare the essential equipment. The following is a list of the equipment required for the
project:
 1) Hardware
 2) Software integration
 3) Spare parts for replacement
 4) Monthly support and maintenance
 5) Shipping and installation
 6) Warranty (10 years)

Site Preparation

The company will begin site preparation in the following aspects after acquiring the
appropriate approvals:
1) Power supply cable and data cable connection     
 2) Assemble of smart locker console
 3) Adjusting code generating system
 4) Final instalment linked to online
 
Firstly, the staff from the technical department will assemble the power supply and
the data cable connection. These things aim to connect with a code generating system in the
smart locker console, make it available to operate.

Secondly, the staff will do the assemble smart locker console. First, we lay both side
panels flat, holes facing up, back edges touching. Then, we fill the dowel holes on both sides
with wood glue. Next, we install the bottom and support rails of the console. Furthermore, we
insert the back panel. After that, attach the right side and legs of the console. Moreover, we
insert four shelf pins into each side's pre-drilled hole at desired height to adjust shelf. Then,
we install the door and apply two rubber bumpers to the inside of the door to fixed it. Final,
we insert smart locker into each console. The smart lock console completed.

Thirdly, the staff will adjust the code generating system and connect it with the power
supply and the data cable connection. It can ensure the safety parcel of the tenants in the
smart locker console. And it will also prevent someone took the wrong parcel of another
tenant. Because each tenant has a different password, they cannot the smart locker console
with no enter the correct password. It can reduce the occurrence of these things.
 
Lastly, the staff will do the final instalment linked online. Then, the staff will be
checking the operation of each smart locker console, to make sure no issues. After the 50
smart locker consoles place in the apartment, the company will person in charge do regular
check-ups for the smart locker consoles every three months.

The project manager is Chia Jin Li. He graduated with a Master of Business
Administration from University Tunku Abdul Rahman. He worked long years in this project
team, he had 28 years of working experience, 26 years was working in his industry, and 2
years part-time. He had worked in our company for 16 years. He had taken over many
projects before, so, Chief Executive Officer gives him a car worth RM60k as a reward.

The communicator in our company is Chia Tze Pei, he graduated with a Degree in
Business Information Systems from University Tunku Abdul Rahman. He has 17 years of
working experience, he just joined our company two years ago. In the past ten years, he
helped his company communicate with clients to receive an order, so his company pays him a
full bonus every year.

The financial controller for this project is Low Wei Yu. He graduates with a Master of
Accounting from Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation. He has five years of
working experience, and these five years he worked in our company. Because he is

trustworthy, so he also participates in many projects. He is proficient in calculating and


comparing, so he helps the company minimize costs.

Koh Ming Jie, a product system designer, graduated with Degree in Software
Engineering from Xiamen University Malaysia. He has ten years of working experience and
has been working in our company eight years before he joins our company. Before joining
the company, he was a lecturer at Xiamen University Malaysia that was a lecturer majoring in
software engineering. During his free time, he also helps clients in designing the system by
client requests for another income.

The product installer is Wong Zhai Yong. He graduated with Diploma in Electrical
and Electronic Engineering from Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation. He
has 13 years of working experience and works in our company for ten years. He also knows
to repair some electrical appliances such as a water heater, fan, electrical locker, and others.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, the main goal of this proposal is to solve the problem of apartment for
too many parcels and avoid face to face in covid-19 pandemic. G4 Technology Company
Sdn. Bhd. want to make people convenience, especially in covid-19 pandemic reduce face to
face. In addition, G4 Technology Company Sdn. Bhd. have sold many products before, the
products are high quality, long duration, and system process efficient. Hence, G4 Technology
