Pupils will be prompted on the formal letter. Pre Lesson Pupils learn the content of a formal letter or the format on writing a formal letter. (sender’s address, date, receiver’s address, salutation, subject, body, complementary closure, signature and sender’s name). Pupils will be shown another similar example of formal letter to enhance their understanding of the content or format of a formal letter. Lesson Development Pupils will be given scrambled information. Pupils need to rearrange the information accordingly to form a formal letter. LEARNING ACTIVITIES Pupils use the knowledge they have learned in Pre Lesson stage to help them to rearrange the information. After that, the pupils write the information accordingly as a formal letter. Pupils will be explained on the formal letter. Post Lesson Pupils will be given another similar situation with the previous activity and ask to write a formal letter. Before they write, pupils need to brainstorm the ideas they need to write the formal letter. After the brainstorming activity, pupils will continue to write a formal letter using the information. ATTENDANCE _____ / 31 DURATION 60 minutes CLASS 6 ALPHA SUBJECT ENGLISH Unit 10: Be Aware, Take THEME World of Knowledge TOPIC Care! 1.2 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to listen and respond CONTENT STANDARD FOCUS SKILL(S) Listening and Speaking appropriately in formal and informal situations for a variety of purposes. 1.2.4 Able to participate in LEARNING STANDARD PUPIL’S ASPIRATION Thinking Skills conversations with peers At the end of the activity (s), pupils are able to: 1. listen and respond 2 out of 4 statements with ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ correctly EDUCATIONAL LEARNING OBJECTIVE(S) 2. talk about 2 road safety features using the EMPHASIS Values and Citizenships information provided 3. talk about 3 out of 5 safety measures for 5 different places At the end of the activity (s), I am succeed when the pupils able to: 1. listen and respond correctly to the statements given using ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ MEDIUM OF SUCCESS CRITERIA(S) 2. talk about with confidence on 2 road safety Online interaction INTERACTION measures by referring to the information provided 3. talk about the safety measures for different settings Set Induction Pupils watch a short story on jaywalking. Pupils will be prompted on what happened in the story. Pre Lesson Pupils will be introduced to the terms ‘jaywalking’. Pupils learn about jaywalking. Pupils will do a listening activity based on the information that they had learned on jaywalking. Pupils will discuss the answer with the teacher after completing the activity. Lesson Development Pupils will be introduced to other road safety features. Pupils will be explained on speed hump and lollipop man. Next, LEARNING ACTIVITIES pupils will be given another road safety features. Pupils learn about the zebra crossing, pedestrian bridge and traffic light. After that, pupils will be given two more road safety features namely school ahead sign and no honking sign. Pupils will be given clues about the signs. Pupils use the clues and explain about the two road safety signs. Post Lesson Pupils will be given 5 different places. Pupils may discuss in pairs or in groups on the safety measures that need to be take at the places. Pupils share their answers and given feedback by the teacher. Closure Pupils have a Q&A session with the teacher to reinforce the pupils understanding on the learned topic. Remedial: Enforcement: Enrichment: No Response: FOLLOW UP ACTIONS
