to do.
• Give hints about what is about to
happen in what you're reading.

• Signal words are used to follow the
directions in their correct order.
• Take note that in writing directions using
signal words, always put comma ( , ) after
each signal word you use.
Study these sentences.
1.Break one or two eggs in a bowl.
2.Add a pinch of salt and mix them using a whisk.
3.Heat oil in the pan.
4.Pour in the egg mixture and wait until cook.
