After reading "How We Learn To Behave" by Williams, J, I gained knowledge about the
importance of socialization in today's life. And I find that the way we behave depends a lot on the

environment we live in, for example, if we live in a healthy, positive living environment, we will
have better behaviors than a person living in a bad environment without education.
In increasingly modern society, socialization is an important issue for everyone, especially young
people. Because socialization will largely determine a person's personality and this will affect
society. Socialization is defined as the process of learning how to behave in the society we live in
through the process of interacting with society. For example: When your parents teach you how
to talk to people around you when your siblings teach you how to use school supplies when your
teacher teaches you about your country's history… you are being socialized. Thus, it can be said
that family is the first and most important factor for people. Because, from birth to adulthood,
family is the basic environment that teaches us life experiences, life lessons, or cultural standards
to shape the personality and attitude of the world. So, from my point of view, I see that the living
environment will be an important factor that can influence my personality and attitude to life.
The living environment is an important factor in the character and responsibility of children to the
family. For example, in some countries like Kenya and Mexico, children here have to learn how
to take care of other children in the family and do household chores. In contrast, in the United
States, children do less housework, and they are less likely to develop these traits at an early age.
Although I don't have to earn money to help my family like poor children in some countries, I
was educated about working, having to do housework to help my parents, and achieving high
academic results. Although sometimes I feel quite sad or annoyed by people's suggestions, after
understanding the problem, I have realized the importance of the comments that people around
me give me. In addition, I also feel that the strict education of the family is a unique characteristic
of Asians.
In addition to the factors from the family, there are still three important factors that affect the
personality and attitude of people: school, friends, and people in the society we live in. When we
are a little more mature, in addition to the family, school is also an agent that has a significant
influence on the creation and development cycle of people. And friends who contact with we so
much. They will have good people and bad people, so we need to keep our views to not be taken
advantage of by bad people, causing harm to ourselves and closer.
In conclusion, socialization is an important issue that can have a positive or negative impact on
society in the future as all these forms of socialization determine how we behave as adults. That's
why each of us needs to take behavior to deal with social standards so that the society we live in
becomes more polite and more civilized.
