“Exercise also releases endorphins, which correlates to a happy child”. - Len Saunders

This statement by Mr. Len Saunders, a P.E. teacher, and an author, tells us that exercise is a very
important activity for children because it can improve their health and their well-being, thus, it
releases endorphins, which is also known as “happy hormone” that boosts our overall mood, this
hormone can be released by the body through exercise.

Activity 1 – REMEMBER AND REFLECT

Do you still remember your younger years when you used to play outside with your
relatives/neighbors/friends? What can you say about those experiences? Share all the things that you
remembered through writing (At least two to three sentences)

Reminiscing those things makes me want to bring back the old days because those moments
are the best memories I had during my childhood. For instance, while playing with my friends,
relatives, and neighbors, we did not worry about the earthly things happening around us, such as
problems. The only thing that matter was to enjoy, and communicate with each other, which creates a
priceless bond. Those experiences involved happy experiences, but are now just a memory in our
heads.

Activity 2 – OBSERVE AND ANALYZE

What can you say about the following pictures? Have you ever experienced doing these activities?

PRELIM: FIRST SEMESTER 1

SMCM MODULES AND REINFORCEMENT TASKS (SMART) PE3

The picture above shows a group of people walking, and talking to one another. I also
experienced this kind of scenario with my friends and classmate after school before the pandemic
happened. During that time, we spend each other’s company walking around, sightseeing the view of
nature, and talking about what happened on our day-laughing with each other about our embarrassing
moments in class, and so on. I think those activities are the experience we miss today that we are now
in the distance learning modality.

The photo indicates people who are doing exercise in the gym who wanted to maintain their
figures and shape. I experienced going to the gym to do some workout routines, but I am not
constantly doing it up until today because I don’t have the motivation to continue so I stopped doing
it. Though exercise makes me tired, especially the high-intensity workout, it improves my
productivity and regulates my mood. Indeed, exercises are essential to attain healthy living and
quality life.
