VIRTUAL IN-SERVICE TRAINING - DAY 2
INTERVENTION FOR BRIDGING LEARNING GAPS
AND INTENSIFYING LEARNING GAINS
MARCH 16, 2021
9:00AM-3:30PM VIA GOOGLE MEET

The meeting started at exactly 9:00AM. Ms. Rose Ann V. Venadas, Grade 8 Adviser
and MAPEH 8 teacher was assigned to lead as the Mistress of Ceremonies for the day. The
program started by a prayer led by Ms. Crismay D. Manzano, Grade 7 MAPEH teacher. A
Food for thought was shared by Mrs. Honey Grace D. Estrada, Grade 9 MAPEH teacher.
Shared a quote and thought about being wiser from yesterday and today, “I do not think
much of a man who is not wiser today than he was yesterday.”- Abraham Lincoln.

Attendance checking was done by the Mathematics department teachers thru


sending link from google forms for filling up. And a short but straight recap of what has
happened yesterday In Service training done by Mrs. Necie B. Generalo, Grade 8 Adviser
and Grade 8 MAPEH teacher.

The meeting proper started by Mr. Jesus F. Obenita Jr., as he discussed how to
navigate thru the e-Cares website for employee of the DepEd Division of Rizal, teaching and
showing how to navigate and update the personal profile of every teacher from BBEMNHS.
After that, an energetic and body awakening virtual Zumba led by non-other than Mr. Ruel
Tirados, Grade 10 MAPEH Teacher. Afterwards, HR matters were discussed by Mr. John
Dustin C. Javier, Liaison Officer and Grade 10 English Teacher, presented the DepEd
Employee benefits, and credits, encourage each one to update their 201 files, if ever has an
opportunity to go to school for cross checking of personal information and data.

After Lunch, for the Part 2 of Seminar proper. Dr. Jeffrey V. Roxas, of Taytay
Municipal Health Officer, presented to us the topic: Vaccination Awareness, that gives us a
clear understanding of vaccines created, the pros and cons and how to’. Questions were
arises as Dr. Roxas explained and answered straightforwardly.

Topic #3 Pedagogical Approach, presented by Mrs. Florlyn B. Resoles, Grade 10


Adviser and English 10 Teacher. Discusses the different Pedagogical Approaches, these
are: Inquiry-Based Approach, which can be achieve thru, Simulation via role play/games,
demonstration, experiment, field study and project work. While Collaborative approach,
especially online, it keeps student engaged while at home by doing Jigsaw technique, think-

pai-share, brain writing, daily discussion questions, break-out group discussion, peer review
and scaffolding. Then Integrative approach, is a teaching method which allows learners to
explore, gather, process, refine, and present information about topics they want to
investigate without the constraints imposed by traditional subject barriers thru Discussion
method, Buzz groups and Brainstorming. On the other hand, Constructivist approach,
Learners are the makers of meaning and knowledge- making them critical thinkers,
motivated and independent. And reflective approach. Mrs. Resoles also presented the 5 new
approaches to teaching and learning as the next frontier. These are: Hip-Hop Education
(HipHopEd), Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Lessons (POGIL), Project based
learning(PBL), and Reality Pedagogy as well as its 5 C’s reality pedagogy. It ended with a
quote, “Teaching is more than imparting knowledge, it is inspiring change. Learning is more
than absorbing facts; it is acquiring understanding.” – William Arthur Ward.

Topic #4 Activity Sheets Making presented by Mr. Mark Jason M. Barsaga, Grade 10
Adviser and Grade 10 MAPEH Teacher. He taught steps in aligning activities with MELCs
using the Blooms Taxonomy in making any activity. He even asks every department to have
a participation on the hands-on activity after his presentation for a learning-engagement and
lively virtual participation. He ends his session with a quote from John W. Gardner,
“Excellence is doing things extraordinarily well.” Afterwards, Topic #5 Project proposal
making, presented by Ms. Rosalie Nenette S. Barela, EsP Department chairperson. She
shares her life experience in the making of project Nehemiah/CREATE. She gives tips and
techniques in making a project proposal, as an answer to a particular area that needs
attention and development.

Open forum and Announcement, followed by QATAME led by Mrs. Ofelia L. Obenita,
Master teacher of Mathematics Department. The closing remarks were given by Mrs.
Cemoneth M. Andres, MAPEH Department Chairperson. Mr. Louie R. Espinosa and Ms.
Celina Grace Anne P. Salangsang were the chatbox moderators for that day.
