Grammar Focus
1- Simple past VS present perfect:

We use simple past with actions that happened in the past and finished. And we
use the present perfect with actions that happened or started in the past and still
have effects in the present.
Simple past:

We use the simple past with expressions like yesterday/ ago/ last...../ in 2003

Subject+ verb2+ Complement


Negative: Subject+ didn't+ verb 1+ complement
Question: Did + subject+ verb 1+ complement
Foe example:
1-She cooked the dinner for her friends last night.
2- I didn't have time to talk to him yesterday.
3- Did they study English in 1999?
Present Perfect:

We Use present perfect with key words like : yet/ already/ just/ ever/ never

Subject+ have or has+ verb 3+ Complement


Negative: Subject+ haven't or hasn't+ Verb 3 + Complement
Questions: Have or has + Subject+ verb 3 + Complement?
For example:

1- I have already eaten lunch.
2- She hasn't slept yet.
3- Have you ever been to America?

Adverbs of sequence:

We use sequence adverbs to show steps and instructions ; how something is made.

We use first then next after that finally . All of them have comas after them except
then .

We use after these adverbs verb one immediately there is no subject.

For example:

First, Wash the rice.

New vocabulary:

1-Lamb: the meat of a young sheep


2- Beef: The meat from a cow
3- Yogurt: a thick liquid food that tastes slightly sour and is made from milk
4- Barbecue: to cook food in a metal frame over a fire outdoors
5- Shellfish: An animal that lives in water and has a shell and it can be eaten

10- Delicious: Very pleasant to taste or smell
12- Appetizer: A small dish that you can eat at the beginning of a meal
13- Snails: A small soft creature that moves slowly and has a hard shell on its

14- Adventurous: Not afraid of taking risks or trying new things
15- Plate: A flat and usually round dish that you eat from or serve food on

17-Vegetarian: Someone who doesn't eat meat or fish
18- Unusual: Different from what is usual or normal

20- Recipe: A set of instructions for cooking a particular type of food
21-Couscous: A type of north African food made of crushed wheat
22- Drain: To make the water or liquid in something flow away
23- Chop: To cut something into smaller pieces
