Story is a description of imaginary people and events, which is written or
told in order to entertain.

Story is a description of an event or something that happened to someone,


especially a spoken description of it.

Story of something is a description of all the important things that have


happened to it since it began.

Setting - generally provides the time and place of a specific scene or chapter,
the entire story, a play or a narrative poem. It can also include the mood of
the time period, situation or event.

Character - people involve in the story.

Events - what happen in the story.

Read the short story and answer the questions that follow.
The Lost Coin

It was Monday morning. Eric was on his way to


school. When he was near the gate, he saw something on the ground. He
picked it up. It was a five-peso coin. He put it in his pocket and walked on to
his classroom.
He met Annie. Annie was crying.
“Why are you crying, Annie?” Eric asked.
“I lost my money,” Annie answered.
“How much is your money?”
“I had five-peso coin. It was inside my pocket with my
handkerchief. When I was near the gate, I took out my handkerchief. I did not
notice that my money fell to the ground.”
“Stop crying now. I will give you a five-peso coin,” Eric said.
“Thank you very much, Eric,” said Annie.
“Annie, this is your five-peso coin.”
“I found this near the gate. I know this is your money,” said
Eric.
“Yes, it is my money. Thank you again, Eric. You are very
honest.”
