The skills I acquired and my physical fitness level (the journey)

Performing the basic drills in basketball had let me acquire Coordination, Balance, self-
concentration, and endurance skills. I specifically developed Coordination in dynamic dribbling since it
requires Coordination to switch the ball from right to left while at the same time running through the
course. I had obtained Balance in all of the drills since in basketball, you need a perfect body balance in
preparing to shoot the ball, correctly pass the ball, and move fast and swiftly from one direction to the
other. Basketball has also taught me that you need to have Self-concentration in doing basketball
because there are things you need to consider within yourself to perform well in the sport. For instance,
in shooting, you need to be self-aware of your Balance and stance to ensure that you will make the shot.
In passing, also you need to guarantee that you can successfully pass a ball to your teammates. Even
with the dynamic dribbling, you need to have a great concentration to coordinate and balance your
body in performing the drill. Lastly, I obtained Endurance. As a beginner, doing the drills is relatively new
to me and it had really taken me a lot of Endurance to do the drills the right way.

Moreover, upon gauging my physical fitness level in performing the drills, I have observed that I
am somehow fit for the drills since I have done it moderately easy with only a few redoes, except with
the dynamic dribbling and bounce pass, that I had made a lot of retries. I think the reason is that I still do
not have that optimum level of Balance and Coordination since I am still struggling from bouncing the
ball from my dominant hand (right hand) to my non-dominant hand (left hand). For the bounce pass, I
still need to work on my concentration and timing in bouncing the ball to the right target. However,
overall, I am shocked by my performance because, as a beginner in the sports, I did not imagine that I
could easily get the hang of it. I can say that my physical fitness level as a beginner passes the required
physical status of the sport.
