AN EXECUTIVE ORDER REORGANIZING THE BARANGAY DISASTER RISK

REDUCTION MANAGEMENT COUNCIL OF BARANGAY VILLASIS, SANTIAGO
CITY

WHEREAS, the Philippines has always been subjected to disaster, natural or man-made,
all year round.

WHEREAS, the general welfare provisions of the Local Government Code has
empowered the Sangguniang Barangay to promote the economic upliftment, social welfare and
material programs of the people in the community and insure the protection of their lives and
properties;

WHEREAS, Section 389 (6) of LGC of 1991 (RA 7160), Presidential Decree No. 1566
has called for the organization of Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council in all
political subdivisions of the government, and planning for the disaster operations for all types of
emergencies by all national and local government entities;

NOW THEREFORE, I, NORWEL C. BASCOS., Punong Barangay of Villasis,

Santiago City by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby organize the Barangay
Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council.

Section 1. Composition – The Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction Management shall composed
of the following:

Section 2. Functions, Duties and Responsibilities – The BDRRMC shall perform the
following functions:

a. To organize the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction Management

Council of Villasis draw up from the Local Government Force and
private citizens of the community to constitute the Councils
membership, and organize special reaction teams to handle specific
emergencies in addition to the regular Disaster Coordinating Council
tasks units;
b. To draw up emergency plans for all types of emergencies which may
affect the community; and
c. Perform such other functions.

Section 3. Effectivity – This Executive Order shall take effect immediately.
