The two maps below show a small village in the west of Ireland in the

year 2000 and at the present time. Summarise the information by


selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where
relevant.

The two maps given illustrate the changes that have taken place at a
small village in the west of Ireland beetween 2000 and the present
time.
Overall, the initial impression from the maps is that the village have
undergone sustantial changes to become a more crowded residential
area. The village’s infrastructure was also renovated with the addition
of a car park and a tennis court.
In the East of the village, the farmland has been replaced by a golf
course. The forest park has been flattened to make way for a new
tennis court. In addition, the side road which forms around a residential
area in the west side of the main road has been extended further
westward and there are more houses built on one side of it.

In the South of the village, the fishing port has been demolished.
Furthermore, the fish market on one side of the road running east-
west direction has been replaced by a appartments area.The café
remains unchanged. On its opposite side, the shops have been knocked
down and some restaurants have been errected in their places. Next to
the hotel, a new car park has been built while the hotel remains intact.
