Topic: The maps show the coastal village of Aberham in 2000 and now.

The pictures depict the transformation of a seaside village from an agriculture-

dependent village into a tourist destination since 2000.
Looking at the maps, it is immediately obvious that the village underwent a
number of dramatic changes. These include the erection of more houses and
a range of recreational facilities along with an upgraded road network, which
took place at the expense of green spaces, agricultural land and commercial
fishing.
The most notable changes occurred in previous agricultural areas. In
particular, located in the south, the fishing port was removed for yachts, while
the adjacent fish market made room for new apartment blocks. Likewise, the
farmland in the northeast has been converted into golf and tennis courses.
Regarding the village’s center, the landscape has been significantly
urbanized. The residential neighborhood was expanded and linked with the
main road by a narrow path. Furthermore, accommodation amenities like
hotels were renovated and an array of holiday homes were built on the area
where a public park was still found in 2000. A car park has been designed
next to the main road to serve more travelers. About food and beverage
services, sports halls were replaced with restaurants running parallel to the
diagonal path while a new road branched off to the old coffee shop.
