The maps below show a beachfront area in Australia in

1950 and today

The maps illustrate the transformation of a beachfront area in Australia from 1950 until the
present day. Overall, the touristy area has witnessed some significant changes with the
development of new facilities and the upgrading of the transportation system.
According to the first map, this local beach has two 25-meter pools along the seashore and an
additional lighthouse next to the second pool. On the top left corner of the map, there was a
short road which took place from the city and finished at the car park. Beneath the road,
tourists can entertain themself by attending the playground, the dining tables area, and the
pavilion.
At present, two local pools are still remain, while the western one has been reconstructed into
a 50-meter pool with a restaurant and a surf club added nearby, the other pool received no
changes although a new surf club was build up. In addition, the road extends all the way to the
coast, and the playground was flattened, later then replaced by another car park. However, the
remaining features stay unchanged.
