“Describe your Community”
Location/Address of your Communit: Block 2 Lot 5, Alida Residences, Silay City,
Negros Occidental
Silay City, also known as Rurban, is a hybrid of urban and rural communities. It is a safe,
peaceful, and violent-free environment for me, having lived here for 21 years. When you
visit Silay, you will notice that it is a small city with a diverse range of land areas where
people make a living, such as rice fields and sugar cane fields, which is our main source
of income, and we can also trade goods with other cities such as Bacolod. In my
subdivision where I live, it is safe and peaceful because it is located near the police
station. If there's any conflict they can just always settle there in the police station and
just beside the police station is the fire department and also the social justice. There are
many nice people around and friends to hang with the nearest cafe just outside our
subdivision. It is also clean but only a lot of stray dogs which can be a source of rabies.
This subdivision is under barangay Rizal and it also has its own barangay hall and health
care center which is accessible for all person who are in need.
Access to Care
Here in our community, we have is barangay health center just beside the barangay hall
which is located at Rizal. It is accessible to all people that lives near where they can avail
affordable consultations for the health and wellness of well-being.
In my community, it's an affordable and quiet place to build a house. Now there is almost
no space left in every block because a lot of people have moved here outside of Bago.
There are lots of nice people and good neighbors who are respectful and don't like
anything. Conflicts They just want to lead a normal and peaceful life like me and my
family. It is also accessible to other modes of transport such as Ceres, tricycles and
others.
Community Safety
Outside of my subdivision, we have the police station whose main priority is to maintain
a peaceful and non-violent environment. Next to the police station is the fire brigade that
comes and helps these people in the event of natural or man-made disasters such as
floods, fires, earthquakes and other problems. There are also tanods that roam at night
catching thieves and making sure our safety is a priority for them.
Economic Opportunity
Many small groceries and tianges can be found in my barangay as a source of life for
others who have lived here. People also sell rice and import it in other places like
Bacolod and even outside of Negros. There are also referral centers like Mlhuillier where
you can send or receive money from people who live outside of Silay. You can also buy
groceries such as Lechom Manok and fruit stands in Mlhillier. There is also a farm shop
where they sell crop improvers, livestock and other items necessary for their farms as
Bago is a rural community and agriculture is the main source of income.
Education Opportunity
It's clean in my area, where garbage collectors collect garbage every Thursday morning.
It's calm and calm because it's far from the road. My neighbors sweep their kalye every
morning or afternoon to clean it up. I smell the fresh air here and every morning when I
run or drive I can still tell that my surroundings are still healthy due to moisture and fog
and there is no smog pleasant and so is the health of the people in the community
Food Access
There are a variety of food options that are accessible and accessible to everyone and can
be bought at the mini market if you are in a hurry, and there are butchers selling meat,
pork, and poultry. They also sell vegetables and fruits, but only these are available in the
morning because it is not cool but rather late in the morning.
Community Design
For the design of the community I have to include the monument of Jose Rizal. This is a
landmark here that is known for its history. Sidewalks provided by the government for
the safety of pedestrians as they walk from their homes to their desired destination; They
also have bus stops to accommodate people waiting for the bus or any form of
transportation; They have also reused vacant lots and others restored the structures at a
lower cost in order to rebuild them and maintain their community aesthetic appearance.
Social Justice
For social justice we have the Bago City Council of Justice which is next to the police
station. Any conflict in which both partners are difficult to reconcile will be resolved in
the Hall of Justice. He is accessible to everyone, if he cannot resolve your conflicts in the
barangay, your lawyers will schedule you for a hearing. Depending on the case, it could
be a criminal offense or legal or illegal terms.
Transportation Options
For transportation, we have bus stops for Ceres and other means of transport outside of
our subdivision. You can give a tricycle a call if there is one that roams the subdivision
where it's accessible and affordable for everyone. their bikes, as is a trend these days, and
it could be their hobbies or their way of getting around.
Location
The location is split evenly based on how much you bought the property or how large you
signed up to buy. The houses are reasonably spaced and a small distance from their
fences. Roads are just enough for vehicles to enter. In my area there is no problem with
drainage, but some areas flood when it rains heavily due to the low level of the ground in
their areas, this can be the cause of dengue fever or leptospirosis living there.
Social System
For the family, they only meet in other houses on occasion, but this is minimized due to
restrictions imposed by COVID. For the economic system, we have a market or tindahan
where you can buy fresh and raw food like meat, pork. , Poultry, seafood, and fruits and
vegetables. For the recreation system, we have a gym for those who like to exercise
indoors, a public square where some things are announced by the mayor, and Bantayan
Park where they meet with their friends and family and also every afternoon at Zumba -
Sessions can attend. For the education system, we have public schools and private
schools, which may depend on the parents' preferences in which to enroll their child,
where both can provide quality education for all and help achieve their goals. religious
system that we have is the parish of Juan el Bautista where people attend masses every
Sunday. For the health system, we have barangay rooms that are accessible to all and our
public hospital where it is affordable and high quality for patient care. For the political
and legal system, it's accessible and somewhat affordable for everyone if you want some
legal advice. For recreation, our community has provided places and parks for those who
want to spend their free time with friends and family.
