Hospice can provide a safe, confidential and non-
judgmental space for you to share your story with
others who have experienced a similar loss.

 FIRST SUNDAY OF LENT
Lent is a time during
which the Church
crosses the desert in
order to gain the
promises of the
resurrection of Jesus. It
is for this reason that
today’s Gospel talks to
us of the desert and the
temptations to which the devil submitted Jesus. This
was an extremely arduous journey Jesus undertook to
be alone with God. The responses of Jesus are clear,
clean and show that he is truly the Son of God,
acquiescent to the will of God.
The two other readings of the mass express our faith
in God, a unique and only Saviour. In the extract taken
from Deuteronomy, Moses instructs the Israelis the
correct manner in which one renders homage to the
Lord. In the letter to the Romans, Paul tells us that the
Saviour is generous towards all who call upon him.
From all of the above we, as followers of Jesus, can
overcome temptation if we call upon him and try to
follow in his way.
WHAT IS ALPHA?
Alpha is an opportunity to explore life and
the Christian faith in a friendly, open and
informal environment.
St. Helen's parishioners will be hosting our first Alpha
starting on February 25th. We will meet weekly on a
zoom call from 7:00-8:30 pm.
Alpha is for anyone; members of our parish, in the
wider community, those with great faith and those
starting to ask the big questions so we welcome
everyone and anyone interested.

PYX RETURN
Just a call out to anyone who has
signed out or picked up one of our pyx
for distribution of the Eucharist to the
homebound. Please if you are no
longer using your pyx, return it to the parish office
asap. These are expensive to replace and should be
stored at the church where they can be put to use as
needed.
DIOCESAN SEPARATED & DIVORCED
HEALING MINISTRY SUPPORT GROUP
Every second and fourth Monday of the month from
7:00-9:00 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Spiritual Centre, 7020
Stanley Ave., Niagara Falls. Pre-registration is
required. Meetings will be held both in person at Mount
Carmel and virtually via Zoom platform. Next session
