The purpose of this report is to update the progress that has been made by Christopher Ryan
Tyler in pursuit of his HVAC Associates in Applied Science. The program was started
September 20th, 2021. We and are now halfway through the second quarter of seven. This report
was written on February 23, 2022.
FIRST QUARTER
• Applied for and received Electrical Trainee License September 20th, 2022.
• Learned the fundamentals of Electricity in HVAC/R
• Learned to troubleshoot Electric Furnaces
• Passed all HVAC/R classes and Labs.
• Passed Applied Mathematics class.
• Completed 23/23 credits attempted.
SECOND QUARTER
• Learned Combustion Air Calculations.
• Learned Venting System Calculations.
• Learned Gas Piping Sizing Methods.
• Obtained Gas Mechanic’s I license February 10, 2022.
• Learned fundamentals of heating systems.
• Troubleshooting for 80 and 90 percent furnaces.
• Created a Midterm Portfolio for Applied Written Communication.
PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED

Having two jobs and going to school full time has been a factor in my lack of
attendance.

CONCLUSION
With the completion of the second quarter just weeks away everything has gone great! I have
passed all my classes to date with a 3.5 GPA or higher. I have successfully learned the
fundamentals of electricity in HVAC/R as well as how to troubleshoot 70%, 80%, 90% and
electric furnaces. I have acquired both my Electrical Trainee License and Gas Mechanic’s I
License. I look forward to completing my degree in Applied Science for HVAC/R
