PROCEDURES OF STUDENTS’ PHYSICAL ENTRANCE TO CAMPUS


SECOND SEMESTER 2021/2022 (A212)

Pursuant to the Media Statement by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) regarding the
Admission of Students to Higher Education Institutions (IPT) on 10 February 2022, Universiti
Utara Malaysia will allow students to return to campus based on several cr iteria and guidelines
to maintain the welfare and safety of our students.

In reference to the Notice from the Office of Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International)
issued on 31 January 2022, the Teaching and Learning (T&L) period for Second Semester
Session 2021/2022 will commence from 27 March 2022 (Sunday) to 7 July 2022
(Thursday) and will be conducted in hybrid mode.

Accordingly, following are several procedure and guidelines for physical entrance of students
to campus for Second Semester of 2021/2022 (A212):

A. GENERAL REQUIREMENT:

i. Students who have complete vaccination and incomplete vaccination are


allowed to enter the campus.

ii. Students who are not fully vaccinated or not vaccinated are required to undergo
RT-PCR test and must be tested negative at least 3 days before entering the
campus.

iii. Students who are not fully vaccinated due to health problem with
endorsement from government medical practitioner must undergo RTK
Antigen test on weekly basis at the University Health Centre (PKU) at a cost borne
by the university.

iv. Students who did not get complete vaccination not due to health problem
must undergo RTK-Antigen on weekly basis at the University Health Centre (PKU)
at the cost borne by the student.

v. Students are strongly encouraged to get the booster dose injection before returning
to campus.

vi. Only international students with complete vaccination are allowed to enter
Malaysia (existing and new students)

• Note: Complete vaccination refers to Pfizer and AstraZeneca Vaccine (2


Dose), Sinovac (2 Dose + 1 Booster Dose).
B. LOCAL STUDENTS’ RETURNING PROCESS:

i. All students returning to the campus must register for accommodation with
the Student Accommodation Centre (SAC) using their respective portal starting
from 13 February 2022 (Sunday) to 22 February 2022 (Tuesday).

ii. Students are requested to return to campus according to the schedule set by
the university from 22 March 2022 (Tuesday) to 26 March 2022 (Saturday)
and comply with the students’ returning procedures set. Please refer to the
SAC notice which will be posted soon.

iii. Students returning to campus must not have any symptoms and none of the
household members tested positive for Covid-19.

iv. All returning students must carry out Self RTK-Antigen (Self-Test Kit) at their
own expense within 24 hours before the day of travel returning to the campus
and report the result in MySejahtera. Students who tested positive for Covid-
19 are not allowed to return to the campus until the end of quarantine period
as directed by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH).

v. Students will undergo Self RTK-Antigen (Self-Test Kit) again upon arrival at the
campus at the expense of the University. Students who are tested positive for
RTK-Antigen will be arranged to a specified quarantine location set by the
University.

vi. Modes of students’ returning to campus transport is as follows:

a) Driving own vehicle/ Sharing vehicle based on the capacity specified by the
Guidelines of the National Security Council (MKN) where the driver and
passengers are fully vaccinated;
b) Driven by fully vaccinated parent(s) or guardian(s); or
c) Public transport.

vii. Transportation costs are borne by students.

viii. Students are required to wear face masks and use sanitiser throughout their stay
on campus and during the registration process.

ix. Students need to complete self-assessments in UUM CODSA on daily basis (5.00
a.m. to 8.30 a.m.) and if the health status changes, students should report to the
PKU immediately if symptomatic.

x. Following is the Schedule of Students’ Entrance Dates to Campus:

xi. Students from Sabah/ Sarawak and Federal Territory of Labuan, the entrance
date is from 22 March 2022 (Tuesday) to 26 March 2022 (Saturday).

C. INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS’ ENTRANCE PROCESS

i. International students returning to campus must comply with the SOP set by the
Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH).

ii. Students whose visa have expired must register through the Education Malaysia
Global Services (EMGS) portal to enter Malaysia and must obtain approval from
the Malaysian Immigration Department. Meanwhile, students with valid and active
visa are allowed to enter as usual.

iii. All international students must notify their return through the Centre of International
Affairs and Cooperation (CIAC)

iv. All international students must register their accommodation with the Student
Accommodation Centre (SAC) through their respective portal from 13 February
2022 (Sunday) to 22 February 2022 (Tuesday).

v. All international students must comply to the period and procedures of quarantine
specified by the MOH and charged will be borne by the students.
