PROJECT PROPOSAL

I. IDENTIFYING INFORMATION:

Project Title : IODIZED SALT DISTRIBUTION

Project Component : Service Delivery and Nutrition Education
Project Proponent : City Population Office
Duration : June 2022
Budgetary Requirement: Php 60,000.00

II. RATIONALE:

Malnutrition have remained a serious problem in the country. In children, the

impairment to health, physical growth and brain development impinged by chronic –
under nutritional malnutrition is often times permanent, impairing them for life or
leaving them with lower chances of finishing schools and productive adults.
Gulayan kada bahay aims to eliminate hunger among poor families, reduce the
incidence of malnutrition and increase family income. It empowers the people to
produce their food requirement within their own home backyards through fruit,
vegetables and root crops gardening thus raising public consciousness on health and
nutrition.
Under this program, parents specifically the mothers will be provided with
trainings on establishing a vegetable garden. It is but important to involve the mothers
and their children in this program so that they will become self reliant and self sufficient
in addressing the nutritional deficiency among household and at the same time, this will
heightened awareness in environmental protection through the productive use of
recyclable waste and materials.

III. GOALS/OBJECTIVES:

 Promote education and information dissemination on the importance of

nutrition hence enhance skills on backyard vegetable gardening
 Help reduce poverty by generating sustainable food for the family through
production and marketing of nutritional crops and vegetables.

IV. METHODOLOGIES:

Gardening skills and learning activities on the importance of Nutrition among

the parents/mothers which will be realized through the conduct of Basic Seminar on
Backyard Gardening to be facilitated by the training staff from San Pablo City
Agriculturist Office. Right after the seminar, and to actually apply the concepts of the
seminar, this will be immediately followed by seeds distribution to all parent/mother-
participant who will be required to put up a small backyard gardening at the comfort of
their homes.
V. BUDGETARY REQUIREMENTS:
Seminar and training on container gardening by City Agriculture’s Office

(Training materials / Meals and Snacks of trainor and staff)

10,000.00
Assorted Vegetable Seeds for distribution P 50,000.00

VI. MONITORING AND EVALUATION:

The Office of the City Population Officer will monitor and evaluate
through its Barangay Nutrition Scholars and Population Program Workers
assigned in the respective barangays.
