DISTRICT LAC SESSION ON THE GENERAL ORIENTATION ON THE MOST ESSENTIAL LEARNING
COMPETENCIES IN MATHEMATICS AND MAKING OF MODULES

RATIONALE:

Modular is the chosen learning mode by the parents in the division of Zamboanga del Sur
as well as to Kabatan National High School to be availed by their children in order to learn.
Modular learning is a kind of learning mode wherein the teachers and even the whole department
prepared modules to be delivered to the learners and to be taken back by the teachers for
checking and recording. In this kind of mode, the parents and even family members will act as
facilitators of learnings at home.
As far as this mode of learning is concerned, there are factors that will affect the
effectiveness of this mode, which might be taken into consideration.
The threats of the pandemic problem the “COVID-19 “affect not only in our health,
economics but also in the field of education. Quality Education is one of the cornerstones of
development, particularly in a country where majority of the population is of school age.
Education plays a significant role in the intellectual, social, emotional and physical development
of a person. Aside from this, it is also a tool to achieve economic development and progress.
People consider education as a passport to a better future. With a continuous global competition,
earning a degree is becoming extremely important and it is the most challenging part.
Now, that we encounter the widespread pandemic COVID-19 internationally, the total
change of our normal routines of upholding education to our students is ultimately observed.
OBJECTIVES:

1. To discuss the content of the modules in congruent to the “Most Essential Learning
Competencies (MELC)” to ensure quality education;
2. To follow the policies and guidelines set by DepEd, LGU, DOH, IATF, and OP on the
standard health protocols to safeguard and give security of all the learners, teachers, staff,
parents, community people and stakeholders.
3. To strictly adhere the policy guidelines stipulated in DepEd Order No. 007, s. 2020 School
Calendar and Activities for School Year 2020-2021 in the implementation of curriculum and
learning delivery for the school year.
4. To encourage the LAC members to conduct LAC Sessions to their respective school that
would become the basis for strategic intervention and action plan for the improvement of the
content of the modules.
