The Schools Division Office – Iligan City issues DM No. 288, s. 2020 about the Creation of Health
Management Committee in the School, District and Division Offices, to strengthen the components of its
health programs through maximum utilization of the services and the provision of information addressed to
the problems affecting the health of learners and personnel in schools.

The following are the members of the School Health Management Committee:

a. Assess the current environment, its health policies and existing programs and projects,

b. Identify strengths and weaknesses, needs, issues and concerns of existing programs and projects,

c. Formulate a plan of action to address problem areas of existing programs and projects,

d. Implement policies and practices that respect one’s wellbeing and dignity,

e. Provide opportunities for improvement and success and acknowledge good efforts and
intentions,

f. Incorporate school health programs, projects and activities in the School Improvement Plan or
SIP and the Annual Implementation Plan or AIP,

g. Engage education officials, health personnel, teachers and community leaders in:
 Community projects and outreach
 Health promotion and wellness for staff
 Nutrition and food safety program
 Physical education and recreation program
 Counselling, social support and mental health promotion

h. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of existing programs and projects every year before the
start of the school, and

i. Conduct post conferences and/or meetings on important health matters.
