PASEO SA PLAZA
The town of San Narciso prides itself on its natural landmarks located at its plaza –
three century-old acacia trees, whose massive crowns look like cathedrals painted in
deep purple under the cool moonlight. At daytime, they cast giant shadows over the
plaza. The place is a favorite late afternoon or nocturnal rendezvous and promenade
of friends and lovers. Here they manifest their feelings with stolen glances or make
flirting signs with their hat, cane, scarf, or parasol. This dance developed from the
antics and mannerisms of these friends and lovers who frequently promenade at the
plaza. Because of its playful and flirtatious movements, it became a favorite dance of
the young and the not-so-old people
