ASSESSMENT
A.
1. In the topic “Valuation”, what is the term to refer to socially accepted behaviour on
matters that are generally trivial? (10 points)
Answer: Etiquette

Explanation:
 The unwritten rules of conduct that are regarded acceptable in a
group or community are known as social norms or mores. ... Not only
with direct rules, but also through expectations, we keep society
working. People tend to conform when they understand what is
expected of them.

B.

Freedom as foundation for Moral acts

1. Explain why only human beings, not brutes, can be ethical. (10 points)

 Only humans are capable of acting morally. Another rationale

for putting higher priority to human interests is that only humans
can act morally. Because animals cannot act morally, they will
not sacrifice their own good for the benefit of others, but will
instead pursue their own good even if it means sacrificing the
good of others.
Culture: How it defines moral behaviour

C.
Instruction: Answer the questions below as fully and specifically as you can. The content of
your answer will be scored based on your ability to explain, organize ideas with logical
reasoning and detailed examples.
1. Cite a behaviour of yours which is an influence of your culture. Is that behaviour, morally
right? (10 points)

I believe that culture influences practically

everything that people do. It is ethically correct if it
passes rational justification standards, largely (or
exclusively) through producing more good than
alternatives.
2. Culture makes absolute freedom impossible. Discuss. (10 points)

With absolute freedom comes with absolute lack of

restrictions which emphatically spells chaos. In spite
of having governmental control, strict laws and
several individual and community rights, crime
refuses to cease
