Firstly, I would want to thank John Holland for giving me this amazing opportunity to do my internship

here. I find this internship challenging as I have never worked in an office before.

However, I really like working here and it was a fun and great experience for

me. Being an intern in John Holland has given me the opportunity to experience and understand more

on how it is like working as an engineer.

I would like to thank my supervisor Ms Khin and other staff, for guiding and teaching me new

things throughout all weeks of my internship. With her guidance and support, I have learned a

lot during work. I am thankful to have a supervisor like her as she is very patience and very fun

to be with too. She is very understanding and always telling me how I can improve in both work

and skills.

To all the other staff, thank you for guiding and teaching me new things

and letting me try and have new experiences throughout all weeks of my internship.

I would like to thank my IA lecturer, Mr Suhaimi. Thank you for giving me a chance to go for

this internship with John Holland. With your reminders and support, I have finally completed my

internship without any complaints or problems. Thank you for being so patience and

understanding.

Introduction
JOHN HOLLAND ELECTRICAL & SERVICE PTE LTD (the "Company") is an Exempt
Private Company Limited by Shares, incorporated on 21 January 1997 (Tuesday) in
Singapore. The address of the Company's registered office is at the AMK TECH I building.
The Company current operating status is live and has been operating for 25 years. The
Company's principal activity is building construction n.e.c. with manufacture and repair of

Our mission is to most diversified contracting, engineering and services provider through a
delivery model of national specialist skills integrated with strong regional businesses.

Principle
Engineer manages engineering standards and related processes for each area. Principal of
an Engineers are responsible for assigning Engineering Authority relating to assets and for
the development, maintenance and approval of standards documentation including
standards, manuals specifications, procedures and technical maintenance plans.

Description of Job

Colleagues
All the colleagues I have worked with are very helpful and kind towards me. Different staff
has a different way of doing things and different personality. All of them can be both firm and
fun at work which does not make me feel awkward around them. I feel like they welcomed
me nicely although I am an intern there.

Work Environment
Working in the office is a good opportunity but everyone safety is very important. There are
busy days where I had to assist my supervisor and help them to prints a lot of 2A paper and
fold accordingly. It is a positive environment at work, and I have learned how to multitask,
learn and adapt to different working situations in the office.

Observation

Work Processes

Throughout all the weeks of internship, I have been working in the office. I was trained on
how to use the
shorts cut of the 2D drawing and scanner machine.

Strengths: I do my work fast and not procrastinate all the time. I do make
mistakes at times, but I learned that I must keep on checking to minimize my mistakes.
Weakness: I was unable to complete my work on time and up to expectation. One of it is
how to do 2D drawing layer by layer
However, the staff there was really kind to slowly teach me again and again.

Learning points
There are some shorts cut that I had to use in the 2D drawing. Firstly, copy =(co, enter).
Secondly, trim cut =(tr ,enter enter). Lastly, arc =(a ,enter). They
have the same effectiveness as pressing it on computer/laptop one by one but just a-little
faster so I can draw the next thing quick, I feel like this is a
very good opportunity for me to learn more new things.

Recommendation & Conclusion

Things that can be improve

Personally, working in the office is good and there is nothing much that need to be improved.

Overall experience
In a nutshell, I am thankful for this amazing opportunity to intern with John Holland. Working
environment is good and my colleagues will always
coffee. I have
learned a lot in the office. I gained experience and knowledge from
the colleagues for the throughout my intern. It is a valuable working experience; it taught me
things
that I will not learn in school or any other places.
