The dance culture of the dance is Muslim lowland (Coastal) and

The Sua-Ku-Sua is considered as a Courtship dance and originated in Jolo, Sulu

slide number 15 only after the GREEN MARK First are the costumes for female, we have Top or Barawasi, it is the traditional loose blouse, long sleeves with deep
plugging key-hole neckline.
Second is the Sawal or Kantiu, it is a loose Chinese pants with a 10-inch soft white band attached to a wide waist.
The next one is the shoulder band or Siyag, a separate wrap-around malong of rich material strung over the right
shoulder crossing the chest and hanging on the left side. The next picture is the example of Siyag.
Next is the Headpiece, we actually have 3 kinds of headpiece for female. The first one is Gold or brass filigree called
tusuk, 2nd is Paper bills pasted on slender
sticks, and the 3rd is Pasteboard cutouts in the front tip 8-10 inches high.
And you actually looking at the costume and accessories used by the female dancer in Sua-Ku-Sua.
Female also has accessories like gold or imitation gold earrings, necklace, bracelets, and white fans.

Let’s move on to the male costumes and accessories.


First is the Top or Bajo, it is a Short waist collarless shirt, open front. Like what you are seeing now on your screen.

And the last is the accessories, so we have money-belt, Sarok Hat, and white fans.
And by the way, both male and female are barefooted in performing the dance.
