# Discussion

- In the this tables we did a Circuit used to observe the effect of the conversion functions of the
Thyristor Firing Unit

First to find Angels we adjust supply vs = 50 v and Input voltage from angular control . Then we
got the result for Angels from Thyristor Firing Unit in different option
We change option from angle control (0,0)(1,0)(0,1)(1,1)

- Describe what happens when the voltage at the ANGLE CONTROL INPUT varies.
When voltage raise from negative to positive the firing angle increasing

PART1.1: Firing angle versus the voltage at the ANGLE CONTROL INPUT when the
COMPLEMENT and ARC COSINE ANGLE CONTROL push buttons are set to the O

Relationship between the firing angle and the voltage at the ANGLE

# firing angle increase when increase the voltage

PART1.2: Firing angle versus the voltage at the ANGLE CONTROL INPUT when the
COMPLEMENT and ARC COSINE ANGLE CONTROL push buttons are set to the I and
0 positions, respectively.

Relationship between the firing angle and the voltage at the ANGLE

# firing angle decrease when decrease the voltage

PART1.3 :Firing angle versus the voltage at the ANGLE CONTROL INPUT when the
COMPLEMENT and ARC COSINE ANGLE CONTROL push buttons are set to the O and I
positions, respectively.

Relationship between the firing angle and the voltage at the ANGLE

# firing angle decrease when decrease the voltage

# Discussion

- In the this part we did Circuit for observing the firing control signals.
# Describe how the phase relationship between the synchronization signal and firing control signal 1
varies as the firing angle is varied :
it will be linear
Firing angle  (measured) = 135 °

By calculating

 here tc take fomr oscilloscope (delta).
16.67 ms
In this part the tc for 6.2ms

360× 6.2 ms
=133°
16.67 ms
Compare the measured firing angle with the firing angle indicated on the Thyristor Firing Unit. Are
they nearly equal?

 Yes  No

On the Thyristor Firing Unit, set the DC SOURCE control knob so that the FIRING ANGLE display
indicates 45°.

Sketch the waveforms of the synchronization signal and firing control signal 1 in

Conclusion :
In conclusion , the laboratory was interesting and helpful to do, this lab experiment enabled
me To become familiar with the Thyristor Firing Unit. Moreover experiment was useful for How
to use and operation of Thyristor Firing Unit. Also the waveforms with different method
relationship between the voltage applied at the ANGLE. finally there was some mistake and
solve it . and we are looking forward to gaining more and more knowledge about power
electronic next lab .
