1ST BODY MEASUREMENT INDEX

Schooling is one of the most affected aspects of human life due to coronavirus disease-

2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Since the rise and threat of the pandemic, many countries around

the world have decided to temporarily close schools that have affected millions of students.

After 2 years, the government's Department of Education has come up with guidelines

to implement online and modular distance learning delivery of instruction. This is to safeguard

students from being infected by the disease. However, they have plan to conduct an

implementation of limited face to face classes in low-risk areas and Kidapawan City community

belongs to low risk areas.

Central Mindanao Colleges, specifically the Criminology course, choose to open even in

the midst of a pandemic, but they also follow government protocol, so one of the activities of the

said course is the BMI, or Body Mass Index. The first BMI was held at the school on January 15-

16, 2022, under the supervision of school nurse Sir Jaime Imasa. During our first BMI, we

gathered all interns and Criminology Intern John Lloyd Failagmao was assigned to get the height

of interns while Criminology Intern Darlene May Pedregosa got the weight and accompanied all

girls to have a pregnancy test. After that, she computed the BMI. The school nurse got the

criminology interns' blood pressure, pulse rate, and checked if they had normal weight. Also, he

gave some advice to interns that failed to have normal weight.

Our Adviser/Dean Dr. Rolando D. Poblador always monitor every BMI of the criminology
interns not just to have a normal weight or compliance but also to be healthy

Medical Examination

A medical examination is a test that is conducted to determine an applicant's

physical fitness for a job, life insurance, or other application that requires a medical

examination. The purpose of this examination is to allow doctors to pick up signs of

diseases that patients may not even know about. It is done by screenings. The doctor can

diagnose potentially severe or life-threatening conditions and prevent any kind of risk

before it is too late or takes a turn for the worse. So it's really important to take the

medical examination before entering or starting activities.

As part of being a criminology intern student, we have to undergo a medical examination.

Our class president, Ms. Olivia Ojeda, looked for a clinic that was just cheap enough so

that we could afford to pay and she found Generalla Medical Clinic. January 21–22, 2022

was the scheduled date of the medical check-up of criminology interns of Central

Mindanao Colleges and it was conducted by Dr. Generalla. All interns were instructed to

come before 7:30 am and it was first come, first served. Our class officers, Darlene May

Pedregosa, John Lloyd Failagmao, and Hanudin Abdul, were the assigned people to assist

and guide interns to follow all the sequences. After that, each intern was checked for

blood pressure, pulse rate, eyes, lungs, and heart and he asked if we did exercise because

some of us have a slow immune system. The interns' medical examination was a success

because it was to prepare us and observe our health. The saying goes, "Keep your vitality.

A life without health is like a river without water. "Being an intern is not just being

mentally fit, but also being physically fit. These requirements were very helpful for us for

our future job.

students hands-on experience in police work, operations, jails and prisons, fire prevention

and security agencies, and other agencies that make up the five (5) pillars of the criminal

justice system. However, due to the Pandemic, our practical experiences were not

fulfilled. Despite the fact that it was a hindrance for us, we continued our practicum by

not deploying in different agencies in order to achieve our goals and achieve success. Dr.

Rolando Poblador presented us with a list of interns by platoon from Alpha to Bravo

RECEPTION
17

Amidst this new normal that we have as we faced new journeys of our

lives, especially to us students, we have to instil in our minds that although it is

difficult for us to do these stuffs we need to have courage to face all of these

circumstances.

We, the Criminology Intern Batch 46-22 Bravo company conducted a

reception last March 03-04 2022 at Kidapawan Pilot Elementary School. The

purpose of this activity is to orient, evaluate, and classify each Interns before

being assigned to alternative placement. The said activity March 4, 2022 started

exactly 4:30 in the morning and ended at 7:00 in the morning. There are 7 stages

given by our seniors needed to be passed. Before doing the assigned task we

perform the warm up exercise including the stork walk, backfield crouch and

lastly the bobber. We even put charcoal in our faces. Every stage there are 12

proper exercises that we must do to passed, it includes the high jumper, bend and

reach, trunk twister, four count push, squat thrust, squat bender, side bender,

bottoms up, mountain climbing, 8 counts push-up, and jumping jacks but in every

stages we must do 3 or 4 proper exercises.

Finally, after we finish the 7 stages we will now proceed to the final stage

which is the hardest and toughest. To pass this activity you need to be physically

and mentally ready and prepared. We're doing the last stage which is you needed

a pair then you both needed to roll in the lawn. Some of my colleagues vomited

because of the tiredness of their body and i think they feel dizzy as we roll in the

lawn exactly 300 meters and keep it repeating until we reach the end of the lawn
18

but we still manage to finish the last and final stage. Lastly, Our Dean Mr

Rolando Poblador, Ma'am Shaira Oczon and our Seniors congratulated the interns

REVIELLE COMPETITION

A Reveille is a wakeup call at about sunrise signaling the first military

formation of the day that also includes physical exercises. PNP physical training

takes place not in a well-equipped gym but in the great outdoors, so many of the

exercises regularly performed by soldiers use nothing more than bodyweight for

resistance. This means that these exercises can be performed anywhere, at any

time and, in many cases, on a daily basis the reveille describes a coordinated

exercise conducted by military units for training purposes. Moreover, the reveille

competition is composed of four participants 1st platoon, 2nd platoon, 3rd platoon

and 4th platoon both Alpha and Bravo Company and the winners were identified

through scoring system where Alpha Company declares 1st platoon as champion

with a highest score of 69 and 4th platoon of Bravo Company with a highest score

of 83. Those exercises maintains good health benefits to the interns, a dedicated

practice to resistance or strength training builds their strength and stamina that

helps them more active during their duties. The activity also maintains the Body

Mass Index (BMI) of the interns to make sure that they are physically fit

for their future profession, it can help prevent excess weight gain or help maintain

weight loss. When you engage on this activity, you burn calories. The more

intense the activity, the more calories you burn. According to some

studies being active in this kind of activity has been shown to have many health

benefits, both physically and mentally. It may even help you live longer. Doing

this regularly can improve your mood and reduce feelings of anxiety and

depression. Reveille exercise is crucial to supporting a healthy metabolism and

burning more calories per day. It also helps to maintain muscle mass and strong

bones. Engaging in this regular physical activity can increase energy levels. This

is true even in people with persistent fatigue and those with serious health

conditions. This activity is essential to maintaining a healthy weight and reducing

the risk of chronic disease. This exercise also improves blood flow to the brain

and helps brain health and memory. Among older adults, it can help protect

mental function. Moreover, the reveille competition also builds good relationship

among the Criminology Interns

1ST TYPE A RANK INSPECTION

Type A Rank Inspection in Criminology Interns are being conducted to instill

discipline in an individual in their smartness of appearance and action, cleanliness of

dress, equipment, and platoon. This type of inspection has corresponding demerits to

unpolished shoes, unpolished buckle, crumpled uniform, unaligned pleats and ungroomed

individual. A rank inspection is conducted to teach the future law enforcer to look clean

and look smart to be respected by the community.

On March 11, 2022 was the schedule of Bravo Company to conduct an inspection

after the third pre- board examination. Interns were instructed to come before 4:30 am to

gather at student’s lounge to prepare for the said inspection. We were waiting until the

alpha company finish answering the 3rdpre-board examination. After them it’s our turn to

answer the said exam and after we finished the exam we are instructed to form to conduct

the said type A Rank Inspection. 1 st platoon and second platoon were inspected by our

beloved Dean Dr. Rolando D. Poblador while the third and fourth platoon were inspected

by the beloved secretary of our Department Ma’am Shaira Jane Oczon. Everything went

well and everyone was inspected.

As I observed, I have learned that Inspection is important to be more discipline

not just in training but also in our appearance to keep the image of our Law Enforcer.

This type of training is simply teaching the future Law Enforcer to remain the good

reputation of the future Law Enforcer and that is important.

PRE BOARD EXAMINATION – LEA

Pre-board exams play a significant role in a students life. This exam is

especially developed to prepare students for the final board exam.

Last March 23, 2022 Dr. Rolando D. Poblador conducted a Pre-board exam to all

criminology interns of Central Mindanao Colleges. The subject area is LEA, the interns

wearing their Type B uniform, the alpha company are the first to take the exams followed

by the bravo company, the scheduled time for the alpha company was 4:30 am while the

bravo company was 5:30 am.

Essentially, a Pre-board prepares the interns for the board exam and is sort of revision for

all the classes they have attended the entire session.

Rightly named, Pre-board as these are “preliminary exams” that serve as a precursor for

students to experience the intricacies of the board exam setup.

The Pre-board should be considered more as a stepping stone to the boards. It

should not be the criteria for students to feel depressed or even restless about the outcome

of the boards. The Pre-board should also be a time for contemplation about the areas of

improvement in a particular subject. These exams can also help students engage in peer

dialogue to improve upon their knowledge and skills. They are more like the semi-finals

in a match and must not be a marker of the board exams. Teachers and parents should

encourage and not denigrate students’ performance if they fail to meet the expectations in

the Pre-boards.

CRIMINOLOGY INTERNS WEBINAR JPCAPREGION 13

Last April 06, 2022, at exactly 08:00AM in the morning, Central Mindanao Colleges

hosted a JPCAP Webinar. All of the Criminology Interns of the said host joined the said

activity. Aside from that, the webinar talks a lot on how we will be doing in the future.

Specifically, the webinar gives us a heads-up on Human Rights Education and the Life

and Works of Rizal.

Moving forward to Human Rights Education, human rights education aims to teach

students of all ages about universal human rights, the treaties that guarantee them, and the

work still needed to ensure all people receive the rights they are guaranteed. There are

programs that are based on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), which

was enacted by the United Nations in 1948. The UDHR includes 30 articles that

articulate the human rights guaranteed to all, regardless of national original.Human rights

are highly inspirational and also highly practical, embodying the hopes and ideals of

most human beings and also empowering people to achieve them. Human rights

education shares those inspirational and practical aspects. It sets standards but also

produces change.

The second topic of the webinar was the Life and Work of Rizal. DR. JOSE

PROTACIO MERCADO RIZAL ALONZO Y REALONDA, he was a hero to all and

he's a political martyr who consecrated his life for the redemption of his oppressed

people.
The Rizal Law,Republic Act No. 1425, House Bill No. 556, Senate Bill No. 438,

an Act to Include in the Curricula of All Public and Private Schools, Colleges and

Universities courses on the Life Works and Writings of JOSE RIZAL, particularly his

novels NOLI ME TANGERE and EL FILIBUSTERISMO, Authorizing the Printing and

Distribution Thereof, and for Other purposes. It is important to know how Rizal fought

for our country. What I learned in this course is about Patriotism and Nationalism. We

can actually reflect those words by reading those novels written by Rizal. The eagerness

of attaining freedom and how devoted he is in our nation.

At the end of the session, I was able to connect human rights to life and works of

Rizal. Our fellow Filipinos was denied by human rights but Rizal fought for us just to

have a world of PEACE. He is indeed a great hero

PRE BOARD EXAMINATION CDI

Pre-board exams play a significant role in a students life. This exam is especially

developed to prepare students for the final board exam.

On April 08 2022 Dr. Rolando D. Poblador conducted a pre-board exam to all

criminology interns of Central Mindanao Colleges. The subject is CDI, the interns

wearing their Type B uniform, the alpha company are the first to take the exams followed

by the bravo company, the scheduled time for the alpha company was 4:30 am while the

bravo company was 5:30 am.

But the alpha company moved to SL. Because it was raining at that time and after the

alpha we followed tha bravo company to take pre-broad exam and the maam shaira said

whoever finished would return the seat

Essentially, a pre-board prepares the interns for the board exam and is sort of revision for

all the classes they have attended the entire session.

The pre-boards should be considered more as a stepping stone to the boards. It should not

be the criteria for students to feel depressed or even restless about the outcome of the

boards. The pre-boards should also be a time for contemplation about the areas of

improvement in a particular subject.
