It is my sincere pleasure to recommend Jaclyn Coviello for a teaching position in your school
district. As Jaclyn’s Teacher Education Program Advisor at Montclair State University, I have had the
opportunity to get to know Jaclyn well over the past three years. Jaclyn is a hard-working,
conscientious student with a positive mindset that will take her far both in her future career as a
teacher and in her life in general. I am so proud of all she has accomplished during her time in the
Combined Bachelors/Masters Degree (B/MAT) Teacher Education Program and am thrilled to have
the opportunity to recommend Jaclyn Coviello for a position as a teacher in your school district.
Jaclyn is pursuing K-6 Elementary and Teacher of Students with Disabilities teacher
At Montclair State University, we recognize that it is vital that we produce highly-qualified teacher
candidates such as Jaclyn to ensure the success of future generations of New Jersey’s public school
students. Jaclyn is a high achieving student and currently has a 3.833 cumulative GPA in the MAT
portion of our extremely rigorous Teacher Education Program. Jaclyn consistently displays
professionalism in her interactions with her peers, students, and staff. She reaches out with questions
and for clarification if necessary due to her strong determination for success, as evidenced by the fact
that Jaclyn has not earned a grade below A- in any of the required Teacher Education Program
professional sequence courses for the MAT portion of the B/MAT program.
I am proud to say that as a direct result of her diligent preparation, Jaclyn is on track to
graduate in May 2022 with her MAT and to be recommended for Certificates of Eligibility with

Advanced Standing in K-6 Elementary Education and P-12 Teacher of Students with Disabilities upon
graduation. During the many interactions that I have had with Jaclyn over the past three years, she has
demonstrated maturity, a strong work ethic, and a growth mindset consistently. I will miss being her
advisor when she graduates in May, but I am excited to hear about the wonderful things she will
accomplish and the many lives she is sure to touch in her career as a teacher.
It has truly been a pleasure working with Jaclyn during her time in the Teaching Education
Program, during which I watched her grow and develop as a future educator. I feel confident that she
will be successful in all of her future endeavors due to her positive outlook, genuine desire to help
others, and her unflappable determination and drive for success. Jaclyn Coviello would be an asset to
your school’s staff, and she has my highest recommendation for a teaching position at your school.
Sincerely,
Michelle Shanahan
