I chose the film “Petrang Kabayo” lead by Vice Ganda. "Petrang Kabayo" is a
surprisingly good comedy. It made us laugh from beginning to end, and we must
admit that our initial assumptions were incorrect. Vice Ganda is unquestionably the
film's star. The direct and rhetorical humour works and works brilliantly. We honestly
couldn't care less if the film had a bad story because of all the one-liners that were
thrown at us nonstop. However, something miraculous occurred because the story was
typical yet good - it was coherent, somewhat believable, and had a good lesson to
teach the children (and even adults).
I also chose this film to share enlightenment to the people especially to the
parents who have a child who are part of LGBT community. It will give them the
knowledge and realization that being part of LGBT is acceptable and everyone must
respect it. Most people are unaware of the struggles that the LGBT community faces
on a daily basis. But it's a different story for me. The LGBT community is seeking
greater acceptance and understanding. Every day, someone who is lesbian, gay,
bisexual, transsexual, or transgender must wake up and face the challenges of living
this lifestyle. They must fight for equality and hope that they will not be understaffed
simply because of how they live their lives. People are becoming more comfortable
with who they are, but it is still not universally accepted. It's a constant struggle in the
minds of people who don't feel supported by their loved ones or who believe they
can't be who they truly want to be. In the end, whether we're rich or poor, straight or
LGBT, we're all human.
This reenactment is not just for entertainment and having a high grades in this
course but also serves as our bridge and scaffolding to educate, inspire and enlighten
people about LGBT Community. It will encourage them to treat LGBT the way they
want to treated by them that LGBT have their rights to express themselves and live
the way they want to live that there is no discrimination and abuse to their situation
and gender preference.
