WORKSHOP REPORT ON

INTERNATIONAL BREST FEEDING WEEK CELEBRATIONS


AUGUST 1ST TO 7TH 2021
THEME OF THE YEAR: PROTECT BREASTFEEDING

A SHARED RESPONSIBILITY.

GOVERNMENT COLLEGE OF NURSING SOMAJIGUDA,


HYDERABAD.
OBJECTIVES:
General objectives: By the end of the programme the students will be
able to fulfill the objectives.
Specific objectives:
 Invitation should be done
 Facilitation of Guests should be done by the sampling and
mementoes’
 Invite the delegates for the programme
 Lamp lighting should be done after all are attended the programme
 Un relieving of the Theme should be done
 Done the pledge of Breastfeeding week
 Give health education for all the delegates and students.
 Vote of thanks should be given.
As we are Msc Nursing 2nd year students are planned to conduct the
workshop on International Breastfeeding week (August 1st to 7th 2021).

Our first meeting has planned and conducted on 28th July 2021 under the
guidance of Mrs R.Hansli, R.Anitha, K.Sampoorna. Madams are discussed and
divided the committees to work and complete the workshop successfully.

On 30th July 2021, we are discussed and divided the work equally.

On 1st August we are collected the money from each student, for purchasing the
things which will need for the workshop.

On 2nd August we are purchased sary’s for all the students.

On 3rd August Maneesha and Sandya has done the invitation card to invite the
chief guests, our principal and faculty of OBG department. The invitation has
done under the guidance of Madams.
On the same day Health education topics are divided by the students and
prepared, and arrangement committee students are listed the needed things for
the workshop.

On 4th August we Msc Nursing 1st and 2nd Year students are taken the group
photo to kept in the invitation card and for the Flexy.

On 5th August all the things are purchased, Mementoes for the dignitaries and
badges for the students, and all the snacks for the VIP’s and Delegates and the
students. By the 5th August we are finished our works in the evening.

On 6th August we started the programme at 10 am,


Venue: Modern Government Maternity Hospital, Hyderabad.

10:15am Vandematharam and Lamp lighting


Lamp lighting By Dr.s.Nagamani.
Lamp lighting was done By all the Dignitaries who all are attended the
programme.
11:15 am Key note address by

Key note Address.

Mrs.R.Hansli Madam has given the key note address for the programme to
invite dignitaries and delegates and to start the programme.

We are felicitate the Dignitaries with the samplings and roses.


After the key note address all of us done the Breastfeeding Pledge.
11:30-1PM : Speeches by Dignitaries.

1.paediatrician Dr. Ayesha

Dr. Ayesha has given wonderful speech on Breastfeeding week and she
thought about the importance of Breast feeding and explained lot of things
regarding the Brest feeding celebration and how we will put into the action. She
explained complementary feeding for the baby’s.

2.Prof D.R. Radha Rukmini

Principal of Govt. College of Nursing.

Prof.D.R.Radha Rukmini madam has very thankful to the Dignitaries and


delegates in successful completion of the programme by behalf of our Msc Nursing
Students.

3.Dr.S. Nagamani

M.D, D.G.O, Medical superintendent of MGMH, HYD, T.S


Dr.S.Nagamani madam has said a few words regarding hospital and its
management, and she given a wonderful opportunity to facilitate the programme
in the hospital and she given a separate wing for the nursing students.

4.Prof Dr.B. Vidyullatha

I/C Deputy Director of Nursing, Govt of Telangana

Prof.Dr.B.Vidyullatha madam speak few words regarding how to


improve the nursing standards and how to do the activities, learning of the new
things she encouraged the students a lot towards the nursing field regarding
increasing the knowledge and practices of nurse.

2-4Pm Health Education

Introduction to Breast Feeding.

1.Mrs.S. Radha
Mrs.Radha has explained brief introduction regarding the breast feeding,
and she explained benefits of the breastfeeding to mother and baby.

07-08-2021

On the next day we are planned and conducted Health Educations in the
antenatal and post-natal wards. We are given education regarding the
importance and benefits of breastfeeding for the mother and baby, and also
given information regarding positions and techniques of breastfeeding.
Ramya has given information regarding Breastfeeding in this pandemic
situations, how the mother will care for her baby and what precautions she
should take while feeding the baby, and regarding the vaccination for the
mother and baby.

All the Msc Nursing 1st and 2nd year students are given health education to
the mothers and we are given the snacks for the mothers along with baby dress
and the sanitizers. And we have shown Some charts and Avaids for the mothers
to get better understanding regarding the Breastfeeding.

GOOD AFTERNOON TO ALL,

I deem it a great honour and privilege to propose the vote of thanks on


this memorable occasion.

Let me, first of all start by giving glory to the almighty God for making
today’s occasion a resounding success.

As be half of our Msc Nursing students I have thanked to every


Dignitaries and Delegates who are presented on this occasion.

Programme has been ended followed bythe national anthem.


EVALUATION:

As a part of our Msc (Nursing) programme we have to conduct a


Workshop on World Breast feeding week celebrations, So we are conducted this
programme on 6th and 7th august 2021 at Modern Government Maternity
Hospital, Hyderabad, Telangana. We are fulfilled our objectives by the end of
the programme, under the guidance of our HOD Mrs. R.Hansli and Faculty of
OBG department Mrs.R.Anitha and Mrs.K.Sampoorna. Madams are guided us
in each everything which we have done very carefully to complete the
programme successfully.
CONCLUSION:

World Breast Feeding is a programme started in the year of 1992 it is


celebrated by the more than 120 countries, it is important for every women who
are giving birth to a baby, as we are in the field of caring mother and baby, so
we have to conduct the programme and giving an awareness for the people by
conducting the programme.
