VIVA QUESTIONS

1. Tell me about yourself?


Hi, I am Fahim Faisal, a mechanical Engineer from the Shahjalal University of Science and
Technology. I am a very sincere, honest, and likable person to work with. I want to apply my
engineering knowledge properly in the job to gain some professional growth.
2. What is your greatest strength?
Determination. I want to be successful at any cost.
3. What is your greatest weakness?
I have trouble saying “NO”.
4. Why should we hire you?
I take my tasks very seriously and give maximum effort to accomplish the goal.
5. Why do you want to work here?

6. Tell me about a time you showed leadership.
During the industrial training in BITAC, I lead my team while manufacturing a prescribed design.
7. Tell me about a time you were successful on a team.
While I was doing my thesis in a group, we distributed our tasks among us, and it was very
successful teamwork.
8. What would your co-workers say about you?
They have always acclaimed my patience and dedication.
9. Why do you want to leave your current role?
10. Describe your most challenging project.
Thesis. We faced a lot of challenges while doing the thesis.
11. Tell me about something that you’ve accomplished that you are proud of.
I am proud to overcome my existential crisis during my freshmen and sophomore years.
12. Can you explain your employment gap?
As of this ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, my graduation period was prolonged till the end of
2021 and so there is that employment gap.
13. What are your salary expectations?
As a fresh graduate 30,000 would be very admirable.
14. What do you like to do outside of work?
I like to read books and watch technology news & science documentary.
15. Tell me about a time you had to manage conflicting priorities.
At the time of university admission, I chose Mechanical Engineering in SUST rather than
Mathematics at Dhaka University.
16. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
(Management) I see myself as an experienced officer and a very strong asset to the team.
(Mechanical) I see myself as a very experienced mechanical engineer with a good reputation.
17. Describe your leadership style.
First of all, I listen to everyone’s opinion and give them positive feedback for their good
performance. I like to create an environment where they can easily communicate with me.
18. Tell me about a time you failed or made a mistake.
Well, once I had become very angry for a very simple reason and broke a happy relationship. I
thought about it a lot and understood my fault and it made me a calm and reasonable person.

In BITAC, when I was measuring the accuracy of an item, one of my friends told me to skip that
part to save some time, but I disagreed and focused on the details.
22. Tell me about a time you created a goal and achieved it.
Before the university admission, I was very determined to get myself admitted into a public
university and I achieved my goal.
23. Tell me about a time you surpassed people’s expectations.
I didn’t do well in the HSC exam. So, nobody expected that I could get a chance to be admitted
in mechanical engineering at SUST.
24. Tell me about a time you had to handle pressure.
During the time of my thesis, I had to handle the pressure of research.
25. Tell me about a time you had to learn something quickly.
Before anchoring on MECHNOVATION, I needed to learn to anchor quickly as our anchorman
wasn’t available on that day.
