INTODUCTION
On-the-job Training is part of a college curriculum that aims to train and orient
students about the work and their future career. It is a type of skills development
program where a trainee learns how to do the work through hands-on experience.
This is one method by which students are exposed with different work situation
designed to give students an opportunity to experience and a chance to apply the
knowledge that they have learned from the school. It also helps the students to
acquire relevant knowledge and skills by performing in actual work setting. On-the-
job training is very important not only to teach us regarding the chosen career but
also to show the reality about working. This will exposed the students to the actual
work related to the course that he/she are taking. It will also guide them to be
familiarized with the equipment, materials and other things needed that are part of
the working area. By these the trainee can have idea with what she might are going
to do.
This allows students to learn and practice their job while still in training. Other
training methods, like online training or seminars, only give employees basic
information rather than actual experience. With on-the-job training, students learn
precisely what their job entails and ask any questions that arise while shadowing
coworkers.
COMPANY PROFILE
History
Before the ranching settlers arrived in Quezon in the early 20th century, this
mountainous and bucolic land was inhabited by the nomadic Manobo tribe. These
natives lived mostly along the banks of the Pulangui River, around the edges of
thickly-forested hills or near lush watersheds of which Quezon is abundantly blessed
with. After the Second World War, an influx of migrants from other parts of the
country began arriving in Quezon. The opening of a bridge over the Pulangui River in
the early 1960s increased the pace of migration even more.
The original name of the municipality per Executive Order No. 199 dated
November 18, 1965, was Upper Pulangui, in which the appointed mayor was Crispin
C. Bernadas.
On June 18, 1966, Republic Act No. 4802 was enacted by the House of
Congress under the sponsorship of the then Congressman Cesar M. Fortich, which
act was entitled "An Act Creating The Municipality Of Quezon in The Province of
Bukidnon," with the Seat of Government in the present site of Kiokong.[5]
On June 21, 1969, Republic Act 5961 was passed by the Philippine Congress,
amending Republic Act 4802 "An Act Creating the Municipality of Quezon in the
Province of Bukidnon" with the seat of government at Salawagan.[6] This act
however, was not implemented, for on June 19, 1971, another Act - RA 6240 was
passed transferring again the site from Salawagan to Kiokong.
THE OFFICIAL SEAL OF QUEZON, BUKIDNON AS DESCRIBED IN
SANGGUNIANG BAYAN RESOLUTION NO. 62, SERIES OF 1989:
“The green mountains, valleys and plateaus represents the terrain of the
municipality. The spattering of red, such as the truck and the frame of the head of a
deer is a symbol of the courage of the people in meeting the challenges of everyday
life common in a frontier municipality such as Quezon.
The major products such as rice, corn, sugarcane, cattle and logging industry
could also be seen. The flock of birds at the peak of the mountain represents the
people constantly migrating to Quezon to share the abundant wealth that are hidden
in its womb. The framed deer’s-head symbolizes the presence of the Bukidnon’s
cultural community – and the round frame symbolizes the desire of the people to
integrate with the tribe.
The narrow winding road is unending as the wealth and challenges of this
Municipality is unending. It winds around the mountains and finally, vision fails – but
the road continues through eternity. This symbolizes the unending potentials of
Quezon waiting to be transformed into economic reality.”
Quezon with its large chunks of fertile plains, inland valleys and virgin forest, rolling
hills and mountain ranges, is bounded in the south by the municipality of Kitaotao;
north by the city of Valencia; west by the municipality of Maramag and Don Carlos
and east by the municipality of San Fernando.
The municipality of Quezon has a total land area of 40,941 hectares (101,170 acres)
per CAD 895-D with 31 barangays. It represents 4.94% of the total land area of the
province of Bukidnon

WEEK 1
Local Government Unit of the Municipality of Quezon, Bukidnon = this was the
Government Unit where I will be able to enhance my skills, conduct my On-the-Job-
Training. My first week or first day has been very exciting and somewhat nervous
because of the new environment and the new people surrounding me. I am still
trying to get down everyone’s names, and what exactly i will be expected to do here
throughout my journey in the office. I was assigned in Mayor’s office under the
supervisory of Ms. Rhea Joy Aureo. I didn’t have any idea of what kind of people
they are and to find more ways to know more about their personalities and attitudes.
WEEK 2
My second week as a trainee really trained me to wake up early just to be arrive in
the office on time. For the second week was the time were Ma’am Rhea tasked me
different kind of works. Second week as a trainee really enhance my skills in
accompanying Ma’am Rhea’s meetings, Attending Historical Meeting, organizing
paper works, encoding different Administrative orders, Executive Orders,
Memorandum of Agreement papers. I was able to get other departments head where
most of the time I was commanded by Ma’am Rhea to remind them in every
meetings where their presence is needed, Reminding them for some urgent
meetings, signing of documents, giving them some copies of program design. I was
able to apply also my learning in transcribing. Ma’am Rhea give me a task to
transcribe their recorded interviews. The Municipality of Quezon, Bukidnon will
launch our Historical Book within this year and with that they interview different
elders who witness the changes of Quezon, Bukidnon before until today. Therefore,
all their recorded interviews should be transcribe into written words and as a student
from Office Administration where transcribing is one of our major it would be easy for
me to transcribe it even though it just word by word transcription. I was able to finish
transcribing Ms. Abalde’s Interview consisting of 2 hours and 13 minutes quickly.
While doing transcription, at the same time, I also assist Ma’am Rhea’s work, filing of
documents, entertaining of visitors.
My first week was really a good start and I was able to enhance my skills, learned
many things which can relate in my chosen field- Bachelor of Science in Office
Administration. I realized to ask questions if ever you were given a task that is not
familiar with you, be attentive always if someone ask for help. I learned it is best to
do to show your best. Ask your boss if they have some work for you to do. I also
learned how to interact and communicate with people especially every morning.
