BACKGROUND/CONTEXT

Lead students in an interactive activity on Kahoot in order to review their knowledge on
Goal for Activity The Outsiders.

The rational for this activity is to review The Outsiders before the students write their
Rationale for Activity final test on the novel next week.

We expect students to use the following curricular knowledge from the subject area
competencies. Firstly, they will Reads and listens to written, spoken and media texts
QEP Subject Area through listening and reading the questions prepared for them and connecting them to
Competencies their knowledge of the novel.

Students will be read the questions out loud. Students will have access to school laptops if they do

ACTIVITY PLAN
Student will Students will know the types of questions to expect on their final test on The Outsiders. Students
know/understand/do as a will understand how to properly answer questions that may show up on their final test. Students
result of this activity will be read the questions and submit their answers based on the multiple-choice options.
The students have been advised that the first portion of Friday’s class will be dedicated to a
Kahoot game reviewing The Outsiders. I will be leading the first portion of class. I have already
prepared the Kahoot game and will provide students will the game pin on the board. The activity
will most likely take 35 minutes.

Step 1: Write the game pin on the board for students to read.
Step 2: Ask students to take out their devices and see if any students need to borrow a device from
the SSC. Allow students 1-2 minutes to enter the game pin and create a nickname.
Procedures
Step 3: Once the first question appears, read it aloud for the students to hear, then follow with the
answer options.
Step 4: Continue through all 21 questions.
Step 5: Once all questions are complete, see who the winner of the game is, congratulate them and
remind students to keep studying for their final test next week and wish them luck on their oral
presentations!
Students will not be assessed on the activity but will be reminded that this activity is meant to help
