Part 1 INTRODUCTION
Service learning is an educational approach that combines learning objectives with
community service in order to provide a pragmatic, progressive learning
experience while meeting societal needs. The important issue is the progress that
changes the way children learn in the class of love. People of my age will try to
study hard to have a lot of knowledge that contributes to the education conveyed to
children in the particular and the work in general. The second is to cultivate
professional ethics as well as is in everyday life. The third is we will try to change
ourselves every day to be better at work and life.
When I started working on the project. I thought of my own advantages and
disadvantages to improve it better for the environment. I was about to practice
there. I immediately thought about the risks and difficulties in the practice and
learning process of students. What I am looking forward to most in this internship
is to see the progress of the students and the level of knowledge. I have transferred
during the teaching process.
During the internship, the thing that I was most worried about was that they would
not be able to understand what I taught because they were still not familiar with my
teaching method. Through this project, I realized that I have improved my
communication method and understood the psychology of disadvantaged children
and experienced myself to help me become more mature.

Part 2: REFLECTIVE WRITING

May 8th, 2020
This was the first I went to charity class. I was nervous and worried about the first
time I was managing smart children.
My friend and entered the classroom when there were about 25 children in grades
1 to 5. They said “ hello ” to us when we entered. I felt very happy their were so
friendly and lovely. Each class had 1 main teacher to taugh the kids and we were
the assistant and guide them in the direction of the main teacher. We let them
played a game to add scores to them, then let them wrote on the board to review
their knowledge. During class, I felt very excited and enthusiastic about the
children. They were all very obedient and we started teaching them new lessons
Learning time in Vietnamese.
Our mission is supporting Ms. Ba to teach the children Vietnamese language on
every Wednesday. In Vietnamese learning days, we divided our teammates to
observe our lovely students and we helped the weake students. The remaining
students will write the article which was requested by Ms. Ba, after writing it, they
contacted us to help them read the article and Ms. Ba checked their result. But
some of them were too young and for some personal reasons they could not catch
up the lesson, which made me quite angry at first but felt sorry at last.

This is the second day we taught English, the lesson was number from 1 to 10.
They read along and read the numbers very easily and quickly memories each
number. I feel very happy and excited when I see their hard work. Then we started
having the children divide teams to play games and they really enjoyed the
numbers. I feel so happy to see you so enthusiastically. After I finished playing, I

started to search for each student again and results were amazing. They all
remembered the new lesson very well and carefully.

May 22th, 2020

This is the third day we teach English, the lesson was continue with the number
from 11 to 20. We have tried to help them familiar with the English letters, then
tested them by organizing an activity which was called “Role-play”. This time, the
“talkative problem” was still not solved, but I was more patient than the previous
time. I knew I just gain my patient skill. It was very good.
May 29th, 2020
This was a hard day because the lesson that day was so hard. Our team have taught
them how to greet their friend and their teachers. Because of the different ages of
my students, I had a new difficult challenge. The problem was not all my students
could catch up the lesson. Some of them could not be able to speak the simple
sentence. I must taught these students 1 on 1 by myself. At last, they could speak
some basic greeting sentences, which made me very happy. After finishing the
lesson, the charities gave International Children's Day gifts to my students. By
seeing them laughing happily, I could feel a motivation inside my heart.
June 5th, 2020
That day, our team came to the class and reviewed the old lessons. My students
seem to have forgotten what they have learned, which made me feel bad. But at
last, I remembered that they were the poor people with bad condition, they did not
have enough skills to learn effectively, so I felt sorry instead of angry with my
students. I had to start reviewing my old knowledge and it lasted almost an hour.
After making sure all of them remembered, one of my group teammates taught a
new lesson, it took too much time today, so we had to teach a little less. We just

taught them “nice to meet you’ and “nice to meet you too”, and then let them
practice together. That was a tired and stressful day for my team.
June 12th, 2020
That day, my students asked to teach them on the topic of family thinking it would
be easy to them but it wasn't so when they forced me to start teaching more
difficult words like grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins .... then it's not easy for
them to remember all the characters and understand their meaning. I set aside 5
minutes to think about how students can memorize lessons faster and more deeply.
I have them play a play about the family that have just been learned, along with
basic greetings to help them absorb the lesson well and can review it again, I
returned home after school that day but felt very proud and happy that I could help
them and help me improve my teaching method.
Jun 19th, 2020
Today's lesson we teach our children about colors when they hear about this topic
they are really enthusiastic and interested, they have mostly learned about them
through cartoon TV. When we taught the lesson I felt that the children were very
interested in the colors of the colorful animal pictures that we prepared for them
during the teaching process. That day gave me a new feeling I was happy to see the
hard work and excitement of the students in the lesson.
June 26th, 2020
As usual, today I and my team members teach them a different topic before
teaching them new lessons, I have gone to each of them to ask one if they
remember but really. Luckily, the children still remember the lesson and the lesson
today is about animals. But it can be said that for close animals like dogs, cats, or
mouse, they will remember well when teaching to difficult animals moreover, they
don't remember and are completely strange in their minds this is a lesson that I

think is difficult for them but not so I'm depressed, I still try with my friends in my
group to dedicated help to remember the words and visualizing the animal in the
end I saw their progress.
July 3rd, 2020
That was the last day we taught here, we did not let them study anymore but
organized games for them to have fun and relax, that day I donated money with my
friends to buy candy for them, but I still wanted to I gave them to them so I bought
more candies to give to them. My feelings that day were really hard to describe in
words that it was really sad, when I started teaching right from the first lesson I
saw them as my younger siblings. I really like children. I go to school every day to
meet them and it is a great joy for me that they have made me not to pressure
myself on my work or daily relationships. I feel very happy because they love me
so much. I hope they will be bright in their life and I will come back to visit their
on the nearest day.
Personal development:
About my knowledge: After the internship, I felt my English improved, I was
more responsible for teaching by reading knowledge materials before going to
class, I read many books and documents to research important knowledge.
Through teaching, I realized that I had changed my knowledge.
About my skills: I was able to improve my communication and speaking skills
more fluently while I completed my internship, I gave myself time to learn what I
should and should not do next time. I have tried to improve my speaking and
pronunciation skills to bring the lessons exactly for children.
About my attitudes: For me from the beginning of my first days, I have loved the
children giving me a feeling of love and carefree in this chaotic life. Usually, when
I meet people in difficult situations on the street, I am ready to help immediately.

When I went to class to meet the children, I was very sorry for their fate, they were
children whose lives were not as full and full of life as other children. I try my best
to help them in their studies and life by spending a little time at the end of the day
talking to them. Truly deep in my heart is very sympathetic and understand, I also
love the charity organizations to help the community. I hope their life will turn to a
better page. And I also promise to myself that I will try to study well to find a good
job to make a lot of money so that I can share and help those who are difficult in
life.
Part III: Conclusion
Through the 20-day internship, I realized my strengths and weaknesses. During the
course of teaching, surely not everyone will have advantages and will meet easily.
And at the end of the internship I realized that my strength was the precise
selection of knowledge to the students and that I could understand a lot of what
their aspirations wanted and the weakness that I still did not grasp. sure the
teaching method so that they can understand quickly. The biggest challenge I have
is when I teach them difficult lessons I cannot give specific methods to handle
when they do not understand the lesson and can not remember, Another problem is
that they are too mischievous and joking and talk to each other in class, although I
have reminded them but they still continue to violate. I will take the time to find a
way for them to focus on the lesson. Through the practice it helps me to improve
my ability to handle everyday challenges and I feel more confident in my
communication. dealing with people around me, I was bolder than speaking
fluently, not as shy as before. And I am more optimistic about life because every
day I go to class, I have another thought about this busy life. If we live gently, we
will create a comfortable, relaxing mind after tired working hours. And I found that
after the end of my internship I was a more responsible social worker, I

experienced the lives of disadvantaged children. I understand and listen to what

they share.
Part IV: Recommendations
During the course of learning the service I realized that some of the changes were that I
had improved my teaching skills and my English skills while teaching me that I had
found myself much better than before. Through the internship process, I have been able
to experience more in the field of teaching and help me to overcome all difficulties. In
fact, the social activities of the community are very rewarding for each of us at work as
well as every day. Cultivate morality in social work and teaching career. Learn to behave
more fairly in all cases. Through practice, it helped me improve my speaking,
pronunciation and communication skills in my learning. After practicing it has brought
me a lot of change, giving me more teaching communication and communication skills. I
would like to recommend prospective students to study English Language as a whole in
general and will study the service of learning in particular. Find ways to teach students
easier to understand. Practicing skills from scratch will not waste time and effort.
