INTRODUCTION
GENERAL

An internship is a job training for white-collar and professional

careers. Interns may be college or university students, high school students, or post-
graduate adults. Job Training is an essential component in the development of the
practical and professional skills required by an Engineer.
Generally, an internship consists an exchange of services for experience
between the student and an organization. Students can also use internship to
determine if they have an interest in a particular career, create a network of contacts
or gain school credit. Some interns find permanent, paid employment with the
organization for which they worked. This can be a significant benefit to the employer
as experienced interns often need little or no training when they begin regular
employment. Unlike a trainee program, employment at the completion of an
internship is not guaranteed. These positions may be paid or unpaid and are usually
temporary.
The purpose of the Industrial Training is to achieve exposure on practical
engineering fields. Through this exposure, we would have a better understanding of
engineering practice in general sense of frequent and possible problems. It will
provide a feel of the work environment.
Internship was planned as a part of curriculum for B E (Civil Engineering). In a
period of 4 weeks, my objective was to get involved in part of the work throughout
the construction as much as possible and to know the actual practice of work in
construction comparing it with my academics.
The industrial training was carried out at PRESTIGE WATER FORD PROJECT
(K2K infrastructure pvt.ltd),WHITE FIELD . it is one among the known construction
company, known for its trust & quality of works, headed by RAJESH KUMAR
GUPTHA sir, which has made many people dream come true. I thank them for giving
me the opportunity to do internship in their company .
Under the guidance of the senior engineers and employees of the company I
was able to complete my 4 weeks of internship successfully with knowledge about
the practical working condition and the implementation of my academics in it.

OBJECTIVES
 One of the main objectives of an internship is to expose students to a
particular job and a profession or industry.
 To give the students to navigate past the problem of no work experience.
 The internship is an opportunity for an engineering student to experience a
real-time environment and learn the concepts which they were taught with a
practical touch.
 In the field of civil the main goal would be to provide skills and make the
intern to understand about everything from penning a plan to construction
and maintenance of a structure.

MODEL OF PROJECT
MANAGEMENT
Construction management is a professional service that provides a project’s
owner (s) with effective management of the project's schedule, cost, quality, safety,
scope, and function. Construction management is compatible with all project delivery
methods.
SAFETY OFFICE
A construction safety officer is responsible for making sure all the workers at a
construction site are working safely and following all the correct safety procedures.
They may have other duties as well, but the primary duty of construction officers is to
keep things safe around the job site
The biggest responsibilities a construction safety officer is to inspect the
construction site to ensure that everything is safe. The safety officer slowly inspects
every spot on the site, checking for hazards along the way. The officer looks for
broken equipment, defective tools and other safety hazards that put workers at risk.
The officer also looks to make sure workers are using all the proper safety gear and
those they know how to properly use the equipment they are operating.
No matter how good a construction safety officer is, accidents will occur. It is
just part of the nature of construction work. When an accident happens, the
construction safety officer investigates thoroughly to determine what caused it.
Using the results of the investigation, the safety officer will develop procedures to
prevent similar accidents from occurring in the future.
The mandatory first aid requirements for a construction site are covered in The
Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. The appointed person must provide
and stock a first aid box with sufficient supplies to cater to the number of workers on
site.

RMC (READY MIX CONCRETE) PLANT

Ready-mix concrete refers to concrete that is specifically manufactured for
customers' construction projects, and supplied
to the customer on site as a single product. It is
a mixture of Portland or other cements, water
and aggregates: sand, gravel, or crushed stone.
All aggregates should be of a washed type
material with limited amounts of fines or dirt
and clay. An admixture is also added to
improve work-ability of the concrete and/or
increase setting time of concrete (using
retarders) to factor in the time required for the
transit mixer to reach the site.
Ready-mixed concrete is used in construction projects where the construction site is
not willing, or is unable, to mix concrete on site. Using ready-mixed concrete means
product is delivered finished, on demand, in the specific quantity required, in the
specific mix design required. For a small to medium project, the cost and time of
hiring mixing equipment, labour, plus purchase and storage for the ingredients of
concrete, added to environmental concerns (cement dust is an airborne health
hazard) may simply be not worthwhile when compared to the cost of ready-mixed
concrete, where the customer pays for what they use, and allows others do the work
up to that point. For a large project, outsourcing concrete production to ready-mixed
concrete suppliers means delegating the quality control and testing, material logistics
and supply chain issues and mix design, to specialists who are already established for
those tasks, trading off against introducing another contracted external supplier who
needs to make a profit, and losing the control and immediacy of on-site mixing

QUALITY CHECK &QUALITY ASSURANCE

Tests conducted in site
 Aggregate tests
 Mix design
 Compression test for cubes & bricks
 Slump test
 Unit weight for steel

Coarse aggregates Sieve analysis

Step 1: Take a representative oven-dried sample that weighs approximately 500g.
Step 2: If particles are lumped or conglomerated, crush the lumps but not the
particles using the pestle and mortar.
Step 3: Determine the mass of sample accurately – Weight (g).
Step 4: Prepare a stack of test sieves. The sieves are stacked in order, with the
largest aperture size at the top, and the smallest at the bottom. A receiver is
placed under all of the sieves to collect samples.
Step 5: Weigh all the sieves and the pan separately.
Step 6: Pour the samples from step 3 into top of the stack of sieves and put the lid
on, place the stack in the sieve shaker and fix the clamps, adjust the timer to
between 10 and 15 minutes, and switch on the shaker.
Step 7: Stop the sieve shaker and measure the mass of each sieve and retained
soil/material

MIX DESIGN
Concrete mix design involves a process of preparation in which a mix of
ingredients creates the required strength and durability for the concrete structure. ...
The ingredients to be tested: water, fine aggregate (sand), coarse aggregate, cement,
chemicals, reinforcement, and soil.
In the QC lab they has done the Mix design M40 Grade by calculating shown in figure

PLANS
1.ARCHITECTURAL PLANS
An architectural plan or architect's drawing is a technical drawing of a
building (or building project) that falls within the definition of architecture.
Architectural drawings are used by architects and others for a number of purposes:
to develop a design idea into a coherent proposal, to communicate ideas and
concepts, to convince clients of the merits of a design, to assist a building
contractor to construct it based on design intent, as a record of the design and
planned development, or to make a record of a building that already exists.
Architectural drawings are made according to a set of conventions, which
include particular views (floor plan, section etc.), sheet sizes, units of measurement
and scales, annotation and cross referencing.

2 . STRUCTURAL PLANS
A structural plan, a type of engineering drawing, is a plan or set of plans and
details for how a building or other structure will be built. Structural drawings are
generally prepared by registered professional engineers, and based on information
provided by architectural drawings. The structural drawings are primarily concerned
with the load-carrying members of a structure. They outline the size and types of
materials to be used, as well as the general demands for connections. They do not
address architectural details like surface finishes, partition walls, or mechanical
systems. The structural drawings communicate the design of the building's structure
to the building authority for review. Structural drawings are also included with a
proposed building's contract documents, which guide contractors in detailing,
fabricating, and installing parts of the structure.
The structural drawings set has different subsets: General Notes, Plans,
Elevations, Sections, and Details
The structural plan drawings show the foundation, floor, and roof plan of the
building. These plans provide information like size and location of the structural
elements present in the respective plans.

3.Electrical plans
An electrical drawing is a type of technical drawing that shows information
about power, lighting, and communication for an engineering or architectural
project. Any electrical working drawing consists of "lines, symbols, dimensions, and
notations to accurately convey engineering’s design to the workers, who install the
electrical system on the job".
4. Plumbing drawing.
A plumbing drawing, a type of technical drawing, shows the system of piping for
fresh water going into the building and waste going out, both solid and liquid. It also
includes fuel gas drawings. Mainly plumbing drawing consists of water supply system
drawings, drainage system drawings, irrigation system drawings, storm water system
drawings. In water supply system drawing there will be hot water piping and cold
water piping and hot water return piping also. In drainage system drawings there will
be waste piping, Soil piping and vent piping. The set of drawing of each system like
water supply , drainage etc is consist of Plans, Riser diagram, Installation details,
Legends, Notes. Every pipe should be marked with pipe sizes. If the drawing is
detailed, fixture units also should be marked along with the pipe. If it is shop drawing,
sections also should be shown where there pipes are crossing. In shop drawings pipe
sizes should be marked with the text and size should be shown with double line. Each
pipes with different purposes will be displayed with different colors for ease of
understanding. Drainage pipes should be shown with slope. For water supply, pump
capacity and number of pumps will be attached as drawing file. For drainage,
manhole schedule which consist of each manhole name, Invert level, Cover level,
Depth are also attached as drawing file.

EXCAVATION
Excavation is the process of moving earth, rock or other materials with tools,
equipment or explosives. It includes earthwork, trenching, wall shafts, tunnelling and
underground. Excavation has a number of important applications including
exploration, environmental restoration, mining and construction
The various types of excavation equipment used in building projects include:
Tractors:
It is important equipment for earth movement. It converts engine energy into
tractive energy. Tractors are usually worked by diesel engines.
Backhoe:
The backhoe is hydraulic excavator with a bucket attached to the hydraulic
controlled boom and stick. In this excavator, the excavation bucket moves in
downward and backward direction during excavation. It is used to excavate below
the natural surface to keep precise control of depth of excavation at close range work
