Choco n’ Smiles Operations Plan

I. METHODS

a. Sourcing of Goods: Choco n’ Smiles is a Chocolate Resell Business which means that
they would not go through any manufacturing processes. Instead, they would source
their products from suppliers, specifically from Macau.

b. Distribution Method: The distribution method of Choco n’ Smiles is Dual


Distribution, which means that it would distribute its product directly and directly to
customers.

● Direct- If customers avail the products of Choco n’ smiles through directly


contacting on social media and website, then the products would be
distributed directly to them. Direct distribution can happen in two ways: the
customers would come to the warehouse, or the business would directly
deliver the products to them.
● Indirect- If customers bought the products through shopee or lazada, then
these two online stores would serve as the intermediaries, making the
distribution process indirectly.

c. Payment Process: Choco n’ Smiles aims to provide a flexible and easy payment
method. Payment methods are as follows:

● Cash: This payment method would often happen on direct distribution,


wherein the buyer would personally handle the payment.
● Online Transactions: The business would also avail its own personal bank
account (particularly Metrobank, BPI, and BDO since these are the most
common banks), Gcash account, and Pay Maya account.
● Credit: The business is also accepting credit payments, yet the account
receivables should be received within 6 months only. Written contract would
be needed for this payment process.

II. MANPOWER
a. Job Description: Choco n’ Smiles is a microbusiness, which means that it would only
have less than 10 workers. Here is the list of workers and the description of their job.

● Business Owner/Supervisor: He/she would lead, manage, and supervise the


overall operations of the business.

● Logistics Coordinator: Since the products of the business would came from
suppliers from Macau, a logistic coordinator is responsible for overseeing all
aspects of supply chain management (i.e. quality control and recounting),
and also for communicating with the people in the Philippines
- Assistant Logistics Coordinator: He/she would assist the Logistics
coordinator to boost productivity.

● Marketing and Sales Manager: He/she is responsible for all the marketing
operations and implementation of the sales plan.
- Direct Seller: He/she is responsible for the direct sales of products to
the customers, and would receive and manage all the payments.
He/she would also work under the Marketing and Sales Manager.
- Indirect Seller: He/she is responsible for the indirect sales, and would
also manage the online transactions. He/she would also work under
the Marketing and Sales Manager.
- Delivery Man: He/she is responsible for the direct distribution of
products, and is under the supervision of Marketing and Sales
Manager.

● Accountant: He/she is responsible for managing, recording, and presentation
of all the business transactions.

● Quality Control Officer: He/she is responsible for all the necessary actions
after the delivery of supplies from Macau to Philippines like quality control,
recording of inventory, recounting, and more.

b. Employee Qualification: The following are the qualifications to be an employee of


Choco n’ Smiles

● Business Owner/Supervisor: He/she should have the fundamental


knowledge on how to manage a business and lead his team. At least a senior
high school graduate, and had taken courses or subjects related to business
management.

● Logistics Coordinator: He/she should already be living in Macau, and has


management skills or experience. He/she should also have Excellent
communication and negotiation skills, and at least a college graduate.
- Assistant Logistics Coordinator: He/she should also be living in
Macau, has management skills or experience, and at least a high
school graduate.
● Marketing and Sales Manager: He/she should have experience in marketing,
and has enough understanding and knowledge of sales and marketing. At
least a high school graduate, and is media and digital literate.
- Direct Seller: He/she should be digital literate, has effective
communication skills, effective management skills, and knows basic
math operations.
- Indirect Seller: He/she should be digital literate, has effective
communication skills, effective management skills, and knows basic
math operations.
- Delivery Man: He/she should have a driver’s license, knows how to
drive properly and safely, and has enough knowledge on the
geography of NCR.

● Accountant: He/she should at least be a graduate of Accountancy Business,


and Management in Senior high school. Bachelors or Masters degree would
be better. He/she should also have enough experience and knowledge
regarding accountancy, and is also a digital literate.

● Quality Control Officer: He/she should have experience and knowledge in the
operations of the business. He/she should also have effective management
skills, and be physically fit/healthy.

c. Selection of Job Applicants: The applicants would have to pass their resume that
would contain enough information about themselves, and also undergo a
one-on-one interview. After some careful consideration, the business owner would
decide if the applicant/s are accepted or not.

d. Job Offer: The following are the offers for each job

● Logistics Coordinator: The worker would receive Php 300 per day and living
expenses would be shouldered by the business. Social Security System (SSS)
is also provided.
● Assistant Logistics Coordinator: The worker would receive Php 250 per day
and living expenses would be shouldered by the business. Social Security
System (SSS) is also provided.
● Marketing and Sales Manager: The worker would receive Php 500 per day.
Food expenses during work hours would be shouldered by the business.
Social Security System (SSS) is also provided.
● Direct Seller: The worker would receive Php 300 per day. Food expenses
during work hours would be shouldered by the business. Social Security
System (SSS) is also provided.
● Indirect Seller: The worker would receive Php 300 per day. Food expenses
during work hours would be shouldered by the business. Social Security
System (SSS) is also provided.
● Delivery Man: The worker would receive Php 300 per day. Food expenses
during work hours would be shouldered by the business. Social Security
System (SSS) is also provided.
● Accountant: The worker would receive Php 500 per day. Food expenses
during work hours would be shouldered by the business. Social Security
System (SSS) is also provided.
● Quality Control Officer: The worker would receive Php 300 per day. Food
expenses during work hours would be shouldered by the business. Social
Security System (SSS) is also provided.

e. Employee Development: All the employees would receive proper training before
and during employment from experts/tutors of their specific field. These trainers
would be hired outside the business, and would not be a regular worker of Choco n’
Smiles

a. Equipment and other physical facilities


● Printing Machines/Stamps for the packaging (Direct Distribution)
● Printer for Packaging Labels or labeler (Online Store/Indirect Distribution)
● Pick-up car for deliveries
● Mini Warehouse for stocks
● Disinfectant or Sanitary Equipments
● Box cutters, tape gun, and other packaging equipments

b. Telecommunications and information technology


● Computers or Laptops for office work like accounting and marketing
● Landline Telephone and mobile phone for communication
● Social Media Accounts, Online Store Accounts, and Websites for promotion
● Bank Accounts and Mobile Wallet Accounts for online transactions
● Map applications like waze and Google maps for deliveries.

IV. MATERIALS

● Suppliers: The suppliers of the products, which are branded chocolates, biscuits, and
candies, would be coming from Macau.

Chocolates, Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate, Toblerone, Twix, Nestle Kitkat, M&M’s
Chocolate, Hershey’s Kisses, Jack & Jill Dewberry. Pepero. Oreo, Meji Hello Panda,
Nerds, Skittles, and Sour Patch Kids
