1.

Explain about Double circulation

circulation?
Double Circulation: As the blood reaches the heart two times, once through
pulmonary cycle and again through systemic cycle, it is called double circulation.

2. Explain about Cardiac cycle?

Cardiac Cycle: One contraction and one relaxation of atria and ventricles are called
one cardiac cycle. The sequential events in the heart which are cyclically repeated
are called cardiac cycle. The cardiac cycle includes an active phase systole and a
resting phase, the diastole of atria and ventricles.
3. Identify the diagram and label A and B with suitable answers.

Ans: A is the Ureter and B is the Urinary bladder

4. Describe the different types of Vegetative propagation?

Ans: The propagation/ reproduction takes place by the vegetative parts (Root, Stem
St
and Leaf) of the plants is called Vegetative propagation. In higher plants vegetative
propagation is of natural and artificial.
I Natural propagation:
Leaves:: In Bryophyllum small plants grow at the edge of
leaves.

Stems: Aerial weak stems like runners and stolons,

when they touch the ground, give off adventitious
roots. When the connection with the parent plant is
broken, the stem portion with the adventitious
roots develops into an independent plant. Some

examples for propagation by stem are from

stolons, bulbs, corms, tuber, etc.
Stolons - Jasmin, strawberry, Bulbs - Onion (Allium Cepa), Corms -Colacasia,
Rhizome - ginger Tuber - potato,
Root - Roots of Murraya, Guava, Millingtonia (radical buds) grow as new plants.
II. Cutting, Layering and Grafting are some type of artificial propagation
methods.

5. Write about male and female reproductive systems?

Ans: Male reproductive system produces male gametes

(Sperms). A pair of testes, vasa efferentia, a pair of
epididymis, a pair of vasa differentia, a pair of seminal
vesicles, ejaculatory duct, prostate gland, a pair of Cowper’s
gland, urethra are the parts of the male reproductive system.
Sperm cells are produced in the testes and travelled through vas deference,
ejaculatory duct and urethra and placed in the female reproductive system.

Female reproductive system produces female gametes

(Ovum). The important parts of the female reproductive
system are a pair of ovaries, a pair of fallopian tubes, uterus,
and vagina. The functional mammary glands also integrate
with female reproductive system. Ovum released from the
ovaries travelled through fallopian tube for fertilization.
