Lesson Plan in Mathematics Grade 9
I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to:
- further write quadratic equation in standard form, ax2+bx+c=0, and
- identify the values of a,b, and c.
II. Subject- Matter:
Topic: Quadratic Equations In One Variable
Lesson 1: Illustrations of Quadratic Equations
Materials: Charts, Books
References: CG Code: M9AL -Ia –1, page 92
Teaching Guide: Module 1. Lesson 1, pages 14-17
Learning Materials: Mathematics Learner’s Material, pages 15-17
Value Integration: To realize the importance of the topic in real life
III. Procedure
1. Drill (Flashcards)
Tell whether the equations are quadratic or not.
a. 2m +7 =12 b. 2m2 +7 =12 3. 12-5x = 0 4. (x -4)2 = 0 5. 3x(x -4) = -8
2. Review
What is a Quadratic equation? How it differ from linear equation?
3. Motivation
Why do you think it is important to set your own personal standard?
4. Development of the Lesson
Today, let us continue our discussion on how to rewrite quadratic equation from non-standard to
standard form.
A. ACTIVITY
- Let the students answer Activity 6: Set Me To Your Standard! numbers 6-8, page 15 by pair.
B. ANALYSIS (Process Questions)
Ask volunteers to share their answers to the class.
Questions
1. How did you write each quadratic equation in standard form?
2. What mathematics concepts or principles did you apply to write each quadratic equation in
standard form?
C. ABSTRACTION
How do you write each quadratic equation in standard form?
D. APPLICATION
- Let the students answer Activity 6: Set Me To Your Standard! numbers 9-10, page 15.

IV. Evaluation
A. Identify which of the following written in standard form or not.
1. 3x2 = 7 3. x2 = 25
2. 2x2 – 4x + 5 = 0 4. 4x = x2 + 5
B. Write 6x2 = 5x − 12 in standard form.
V. Assignment
Cite at least two real life situations where quadratic equations are illustrated.

Setting High Personal Standards In All Areas Of Life

Setting high personal standards in all areas of life is a habit that badass young men have.

Are you one of those people who go through life doing the bare minimum you can to scrape by?

That is a terrible attitude for weaklings and losers. Life is not a chore to be endured, it is an opportunity
for fun, self- expression, personal growth and the chance to be exceptional.

Grasp it with both hands and make the most out. Part of this is setting high personal standards. That is
how you become the best and achieve your dreams.

We all have standards in life. You and me. Some of your standards could be that you don’t want to live at
your parent’s house forever, some could be that you want to take a bath twice a day, etc. There are lots of
different kinds of standards that we have set – conciously and/or unconsciously.

These are the standards that you’ve set before you thought about it thoroughly. These are the standards
that need changing and that can be improved. These are the standards that you can improve on or that
you can leave behind in order to adopt a new one.

For example: You were brought up to always head straight to breakfast. Someone told you to first wash
your hands before doing so – you change your standard and now you decide to wash your hands before
every meal
