Activity Briefing: Installation of Fire Pumps in accordance with the contract documents and
approved shop drawings.
Method Statement Objectives: To enumerate the practical steps that will be involved in the
installation of Fire Pumps with necessary accessories.

D-Safety Guidelines
All workers will attend daily safety induction session before starting work
All workers should put on the appropriate Personal Protective Equipments (PPEs) such as cover-all, Helmet and
safety boots.
All equipment’s shall be tagged and checked before using.
Housekeeping shall be done before and after working to remain cleanliness in the area.

E-Responsibilities
The Project Manager is over all responsible for planning, control, monitoring and
executing the project in accordance with the contract documents, specifications, and Local Authority
regulations.

Site Mechanical Engineer is responsible to check and ensure the conformity of mechanical installations with
project Standards and Local Authority regulations. He is also responsible to ensure that the inspection and
testing are done as per approved quality control procedure/documents.

The Project Engineer is responsible to carry out the work as per approved shop drawings and method
statements. He is also responsible for the inspection and testing of mechanical installations as per approved
inspection and test plan. He is directly responsible for the timely executions of all aspect of work in
coordination with the other trades involved in the project.

The Site QA/QC is responsible:


a. To ensure that Material complies with approved Material Submittals.
b. To carry out Inspection of all Installations.
c. To ensure that installations are being tested where needed.
d. To generate non-conformances and ensure corrective action is taken when required.
e. To notify the responsible Quality Manager of all non-conformances.
f. To create an Inspection Plan in liaison with the Project engineers.
g. To coordinate with the Main Contractor/Consultant or Client to ensure timely inspection of the job.
h. Produce all reports and documentation that might be required by his/her Manager.

F-Installation Instructions

1. Arrange all required materials, accessories and tools at work area before commencing work.
2. Make sure that the foundation is cleaned well.
3. The surface of foundation should be smooth and leveled.
4. Install necessary supporting system as per approved detail.
5. Install the pump using a chain block in its proper location.
6. Ensure easy access to the pump from all sides for maintenance and services.
7. Pumps must be aligned.
8. Connect the pipes, valves and all accessories to the pumps.
9. After completion of works send request for inspection to the consultant through the main contractor.

G- House Keeping & Logistics


At the close of each working day, all material surpluses to requirements, and general items of scrap or debris,
will be removed from the work-face in order to maintain a clear and clean working environment.

Storage of all materials, plant, equipment, tools etc is not to impede access or egress to and from
work areas.
