IF THE VERB ENDS IN A SHORT


VOWEL AND A CONSONANT (EXCEPT
"Y" OR "W"), WE DOUBLE THE FINAL

The Modal Verb Could
Form:
The modal verb could is a modal verb that is used to express permission,
possibility or to make suggestions in the present tense. It is also used to
talk about a skill from the past, that is, the past version of the modal verb
'can'. We will always find it followed by a verb and we can also use it in a
negative way, like couldn’t..
