Q.2(a) Find K , if the system Kx+3y=k-3, 12x+ky=k has infinitely many solutions. (k=6)

(b) If the system of equations 6x=3+2y and kx-y-2=0 has a unique solution. Find k. (k≠3)

(c )Find k, if the pair of linear equations (k-1)x-y=5, (k+1)x= - (1-k)y+(3k+1) are consistent and

dependent . (k=3)

Q3 Given the linear equation 5x-8y+1=0. Write another linear equation in two variables such that the
geometrical representation of the pair so formed is intersecting lines.

Q4 Solve graphically:
(a) y=6-2x , 2x=y-2. Shade the region bounded by these lines and x-axis. Also find the area of the
shaded region. (8 sq units)
(b) 4x=5y+20 , 3x+5y-15=0 .Determine the vertices of the triangle formed by these lines and
the y axis. (0,3),(5,0),(-5,6).

Q5 Find the point of intersection of the line represented by 3x-2y=6 and the x-axis.(without graph)
Q6. Is x=-2 and y=-3 the solution of the linear equation 2x+3y=13 ?
Q7 Solve : 15y+11x=-23, 7x=2y+20 and also find p such that y=px-2. (x=2,y=-3)

Q8. (a) There are some students in the two examination hall A and B. To make the no. of students equal
in each hall, 10 students are sent from A to B .But if 20 students are sent from the B to A , the no. of
students in A becomes double, the no. of students in B.Find the no. of students in two halls. (A=100,
B=80)

(b) The ages of two girls are in ratio of 5:7 .Eight years ago their ages were in the ratio 7:13.Find the
present ages. (15 yrs, 21 yrs)

(c) 8 men and 12 boys can finish a piece of work in 10 days, while 6 men and 8 boys can finish it in 14
days .Find the time taken by one man alone and that by one boy alone to finish the work.
(man:140,boy:280)

(d) A man invested an amount of 12%per annum simple interest and another amount at 10%per annum
simple interest. He received an annual interest of ₹2600.But if he had interchanged the amount invested,
he would have received ₹140 less. What amount did he invested at the different rates. (₹ 15000 at 12%
and 8000at 10%)
(e) The difference of two numbers is 4and the difference of their reciprocals is 4/21 .Find the numbers.
