IX. WEDDING RITUALS
A. CUTTING OF THE CAKE
The cutting of the cake is considered to be very essential in a
wedding reception because of what it symbolizes. This cake stands for the
material possessions that the couple would acquire during their married life.

The cutting of the cake then symbolizes the sharing of parental

responsibilities to their children and their equal sharing of all the blessings
they would acquire all through their married life.

With the silver knife, the Bride cuts a slice of the wedding cake,
assisted by the Groom who places his hand over hers to symbolize their life
now as a couple.

B. CHAMPAGNE DRINK
Bride & Groom will then drink their wine together, to symbolize
good health and good life through their married life.

C. RELEASING OF DOVES
The white doves symbolize purity and honesty, which is how their
relationship should be, It is said that the male dove chooses only one mate in
his entire life, Just like a married man should be.
So may we then call the Bride and Groom to release the doves as
a sign of peace and happiness. And that they also would like to share their
peace and happiness to everyone here.

D. BOUQUET CEREMONY
The Bride throws her bouquet, it is paid that whoever catches the
bouquet will be the next one to get married. But the real essence in this
bouquet ceremony is that the bride is the happiest lady in her wedding day
and that she wishes to pass this happiness to whoever will catch the bouquet
on this very special day. ( Call all the ladies)
E. GARTER CEREMONY
They say that whoever catches the garter will soon be the next
groom. But again the essence of it is that the Groom has already found peace
and love, and he would like to share this to all eligible bachelors.
F. SURPRISE NUMBER WITH THE NEWLY WEDS

X. FINAL MESSAGES
Now we would like to call the newly weds to express their gratitude
to their guests, family and parents.
