if needed.
Some of the boards have variations in both software and hardware level. The variations are described
in board relevant sections.
KCE printed circuit boards are targeted to be used in all KONE KCE solutions and as wide range as
possible, regradless the rise type and elevator manufacturer.

3.3 LCECEB
The Car Operating Extension board is used for elevator car internal communication. LCECEB uses
serial transmission method to communicate with buttons, LEDs, lamps, keys and position indiactors in
the elevator car. LCECEB is located inside the car operating panel.
LCECEB is used as extension controller for car operating panels that are other than MUL architecture.
It is used for the connections of car calls (9 ... 16).

3.4 LCERAL
LCERAL gives alarm information for remote alarm system via relay. It has switches to set alarm on or
off and reset. The board has also a possibility for setting a delay for the alarm.

3.5 MUL-boards
The Car Operating Panel Multi-board works as an interface between the elevator control system and
the buttons and displays in the COP.
The board has interfaces for the display, buttons, the buzzer, the gong and the LonWorks® network.
The buttons and switches in the COP are connected to MUL by button buses.
3.5.2 F2KMUL
1010387-1.wmf
The car operating panel multi-board (F2KMUL) works as serial interface between the KCE control
system and the buttons and displays in the COP.
F2KMUL is one node of the LON (RS485) network. F2KMUL is used with KONE Signalization System
(KSS).

The COPMUL and DOPMUL are similar boards as F2KMUL. Where the F2KMUL is used with KONE
KSS signalization, the COP- and DOPMUL are used with other signalization types.
3.6 KRMRIF
KONE Remote Monitoring Interface board is a part of KONE remote monitoring system. KRMRIF takes
care of remote alarm, emergency telephone and telephone line handling. KRMRIF connects the
elevator to KONE Service Center via PSTN or GSM network.
The board is located in the car top connection box.

4 PELV OF KCE
PELV (Protected Extra Low Voltage) is used in KCE to reduce hazards related to electric shock.
Voltage in PELV system is limited to 50 Vac or 120 Vdc.
The system is isolated (optical or transforming isolation) from high voltage systems and it is not
allowed to have electrical contacts to non-PELV systems except earth (PE).
