TEACHER REFLECTION FORM

RATER: GREG V. LETADA SUBJECT & GRADE ENGLISH 10
LEVEL:

KRA 1: OBEJCTIVE 2
 Designed, adapted and implemented teaching strategies that are responsive to learners with
disabilities, giftedness and talents
PROMPT #1
Context: Clara is often seen restless or unfocused in class. She also has troubles
following instructions and skips activities when left unsupervised.

Action Taken: You had a conference with her parents and found out from them that
Clara was diagnosed with a learning disability.

How will you modify the instructions for Clara to keep her focus on classroom activities? Write
your reflections in this form. Mention in your reflections a specific learning disability that
you are familiar with or have researched on.

Knowing the fact that Clara was diagnosed as a learner with learning disability my action as a
teacher was to research about her condition, I believe that research will have something to
offer to help me be able to provide Clara guidance and proper techniques from which both of
us will benefit. As a teacher it is vital for me to be able to provide my learners an environment
that is conducive to learning, embodying the taught that we have diverse learners in our
classroom with different behavior and learning style.

After researching I have come to a conclusion that Clara might have ADHD or Attention Deficit
Disorder/ Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. These are Individuals that is suffering from
having difficulty staying on task, sustaining focus, and staying organized but not due to
defiance or lack of comprehension. (Source: https://www.nimh.gov) this is somehow similar to
Clara’s behavior, always distracted and having trouble in staying on the tasks given to her.

With the aforementioned issue, I would and should make my classroom engaging and adaptive
for her to be able to not loss track of the activities, she would be able to keep her self busy
with of course the activities I think would interest her and the class. I will keep track also of
her performance by keeping an eye on her, from time to time I will try to approach her
whenever she’s off to doing the task anymore. I will use positive feedbacking so that she will be
inspired to eagerly accomplish every task that I am giving her.
