TEACHER REFLECTION FORM

Rationale: This Teacher Reflection Form enables the teacher in communicating
effectively his or her introspection with respect to the following emphases which
include what went well, what can be improved, challenges (CIGPs), what will you
do next time. Moreover, this shall serve as a substantial basis for facilitators of
education in improving, at a grassroot-level, their classroom instruction.
NAME: GERALDINE F. SAGARIO
GRADE LEVEL/S HANDLED: Grade 7 & Grade 9
SUBJECT/S TAUGHT: English, Developmental Reading, Advanced English
QUARTER & WEEK: Quarter 1, Week 4

I think I did my part this week as a good teacher since almost half of my
classes were able to understand our lesson based on the assessment that I
administered to them. It’s quite fulfilling because it is indeed a challenge to teach
English grammar to students.

As I have said, there were still some students who can’t cope up with
lessons so I am thinking of other way or other strategy that I can utilize in
instructing them. Maybe, I have to review again some strategies to teaching
students successfully.

I also found out from the result of recently concluded Philippine

Informal Reading Inventory (Phil IRI) that there is one student who also come
from my advisory class who is labeled as nonreader. I was bit shocked because I
taught no one or no student will fall from this reading level because first of all,
how can they moved from elementary to secondary if they can not read or decode
the alphabet? So, it’s really a challenge for me to teach this student how to read.
It’s a challenge because, I am not an elementary teacher and honestly, I don’t
even have a training with regards to teaching how to read.

Maybe, it’s about time to acquire skills how to teach students how to
read. So I have to attend some trainings about teaching reading.
