GUIDELINES ON THE TESTING, INSTALLATION, PROPER DISTRIBUTION, UTILIZATION, RECORDING, RETRIEVAL
AND DISPOSAL OF TABLETS ISSUED
BY SCHOOLS DIVISION OFFICE

The following guidelines are issued:

Testing and Installation

• The Public Schools District Supervisor/District Property Custodian of the drop off
points shall receive the tablets from the supplier.
• Upon receipt from the Public Schools District Supervisor/District Property Custodian,
the School ICT Coordinator shall take charge of inspection and testing of the functionality
of each tablet.
• The School ICT Coordinator shall install the Self-Learning Modules in the tablets
which can be downloaded from www.deped.gov.ph before distribution. For queries
you may coordinate with the Division Information Technology Officer.
• The School ICT Coordinator/Class Adviser shall conduct orientation to learners
and parents on the utilization of tablet package.

Tablet Issuance and Distribution within the School

• At the start of the school year/quarter, the designated school supply
officer/property custodian shall be responsible for issuing the Tablets to classroom
teachers/advisers, who shall likewise issue the same to each parent/learner.
• School head should ensure teachers to accept tablets issued to them by the school
supply officer/designed property custodian for the use of the students.
• Tablets issued to each parent/student shall bear the property code number.
The supply officers/designated property custodians shall maintain a record/logbook
of Tablets issued to each user. The property custodians may facilitate the recording
by having each student sign in the record/logbook against the designated property
code number of a tablet.
• Teachers are encouraged to read and explain to the parents the "Agreement
Form" before signing it. . This shall minimize damage on Tablets due to improper
handling and usage. Students have no ownership, interest or title on the issued tablets
• The tablets are provided to students for free and are intended to be used for
SCHOOL YEAR 2021-2022.
• The School shall form a Help Desk who will provide technical
assistance to parents/students in case of damaged or inoperative tablets.

Tablet Proper Care

• The Parents/Guardian shall take full responsibility in taking care of the devices
following the conditions stated in the issuance documents and in the borrower's card.

• The recipient learner must attend a mandatory orientation he conducted by the
School ICT Coordinator on the use of tablets which shall include proper use, case,
cleaning and storage as well as avoiding theft. Training is prerequisite on
borrowing the tablet.
• The School shall provide proper and safe storage for the tablets a fter its retrieval.

Responsibilities of Students
• Handle the issued tablet with care, protecting its functionality and appearance.
• The tablet will be used only for educational purposes. It may not be utilized for
personal profit or non-profit purposes such as advertising, rentals or such other uses.
• Must not install software the tablet unless authorized to do so by the School
Principal/ICT Coordinator.
• Must not modify, upgrade or attempt to repair the tablet without the express permission of the
school
• Must treat the tablet in a similar manner as other school-owned educational tools
such as textbooks

Damaged Tablet
• If the student discovers that his/her tablet is damaged to the point that it is non-
functional or operates with reduced function, the student shall notify the
teacher- advisers immediately.
• The Help Desk will assess the damage on the tablet and provide necessary technical
assistance.
• If it is determined that the damage is a caused by the negligence of the students,
the cost of the repair or replacement will be paid by the parent subject to the
existing laws and regulations
• lf it is determined that the damage is without the negligence on the part of the
student, the expenses necessary for the repair or replacement of the tablet will be
charged to the school
MOOE subject to regular auditing rules and regulation.
Lost/Stolen Tablet

• In the event that the tablet is lost/stolen, the student should notify his/her teacher-
advisers immediately.
• In case of loss, the parents shall submit a notarized Affidavit of Loss while for theft, a
copy of Police Report.
• lf it is determined that after the investigation the lost was due to the negligence or
fault of the student, the parents shall pay the value of the tablet.
• if the lost was not due to the fault of the learner, the teacher must submit a
report to the Property Custodian to support his/her application for Relief from
Accountability.

• The student shall return the issued tablet at the end of the school year or the date
announced by the School
• The School head should closely monitor retrieval procedures and involve the
whole community in reminding the students to return the tablets before the end of the
school year
• The School will inspect the tablet for damage and will perform general
maintenance and upgrade. The. School shall also report to the Division Office the
implementation of the project during the current school year.

Tablet Disposal
• The school property custodian should identify obsolete, damaged, or worn out
Tablets and submit the inventory to the Division Office.
• The principal/school head should ensure that all Tablets for
condemnation/disposal are no longer in the inventory list.
• The Division Office in coordination with the Disposal Committee shall notify the
schools on the disposal dates.

PANGANGALAGA AT PAGPAPANATILI NG KAAYUSAN NG TABLET

• .Ang mag-aaral/magulang ang responsable sa pang-araw
-araw na pangangalaga at paglilinis ng tablet. lnaasahang
pag-iingatan at pangangalagaan ng mag-aaral ang paggamit ang
naturang tablet.
• Ang tablet ay hiram lamang. lto ay pag-aari ng gobyerno at
kailangang isauli sa katapusan ng taong pampanuruan 2021-2022.
• Anumang sira o pagkawala ay kailangang ipabatid agad sa
paaralan sa boob ng 24 oras. Kung ang pagkasira o pagkawala ay
dahil sa kapabayaan ng mga mag-aaral, nang mga magulang ay
magbabayad ng pagpapagawa o pagpapalit ng bagong tablet"
• Panatilihing itabi ang tablet sa isang ligtas na lugar kung hindi ginagamit.
• Kung may sira ang tablet huwag itong buksan o galawin ang mga
piyesa nito nang walang pahintulot ng paaralan.
• Ang tablet ay para lamang sa "remote learning activities." Bawal
magdownload ng apps, pictures at videos na walang kinalaman sa
"modular distance learning."

paghiram ng tablet ng aking anak o batang inangangalagaan.

Naiintindihan kong gagawin ng paaralan ang bahagi nitong

bigyan ng magandang edukasyon at proteksyunan ang aking anak o
batang pinangangalagaan kung kaya sila ay nararapat sumunod sa
makataong disiplinang ipinapatupad nito sa taong pampanuruan 2021-
2022.
