REFLECTION # 2
In this session, I learned that RA 10627 is also known as An Act Requiring All Elementary
and Secondary Schools to Adopt Policies to Prevent and Address the Acts of Bullying in Their
Institutions. According to this law, bullying is defined as any severe or repeated use of a written,
verbal, or electronic expression, a physical act or gesture, or any combination thereof, directed at
another student that actually causes or puts the latter in a position of reasonable fear. All
elementary and secondary schools are required by this act to create policies to deal with bullying
in their specific settings. All schools shall provide students and their parents or guardians a copy
In addition, the implementation and supervision of policies meant to address bullying shall
be the responsibility of the school principal or any anyone who performs a comparable role. I
understood that bullying is a significant issue. Bullying, whether it be verbal, online, or physical,
can significantly alter a person's life. Some people could choose to speak out about their
difficulties as victims of bullying in a positive way. To cope and deal with recuperation, they could
turn to professionals. Others decide not to ask for assistance and instead prefer to do nothing. They
might experience depression and contemplate suicide. According to study, these bullied
individuals can no longer handle life itself and end their lives. Eating problems could manifest in
others. Other bullied individuals injure themselves in private. I personally don’t understand these
intimidators. Why would a human being want to humiliate another person? They make others feel
so bad about themselves that they take dramatic measures to try to change the way they are. Are
they secretly self-conscious about themselves? Do they feel bad about the way they look, so they
take it out on others? These scenarios resemble selfish motives for making someone else feel bad.
No matter what the reason, these tormenters shall be punished. I believe that it was right and proper
that Republic Act 10627 was passed and became a law to punish bullies. More frequently than
not, as a teacher, I personally see and hear stories of children being bullied. Just think for a
moment, about how many times have we heard on the news, or read in the paper about another
fatal victim of bullying. With this law, it is hoped that the government can stop the bully from
taking action. We cannot undo the past, but we can prevent future attacks.
In line with the child protection policy, the twenty-first century brought new viewpoints
and regulations that are advantageous to students. Teachers now serve as facilitators because
today's learning environments are focused on the students. The day when teachers were the focal
point of their students' learning is long gone. Programs, services, practices, and structures aimed
at preventing and responding to abuse, neglect, exploitation, prejudice, and violence are referred
to as child protection. It's still difficult to deal with child protection laws for victims, a problem
that also affects educational institutions. Nobody can deny that protecting their children is
everyone's top priority. This encompasses the community, government, parents, and educators. As
part of the safeguarding procedure, child protection is involved. It focuses on safeguarding specific
kids who have been recognized as being harmed or at risk of being harmed seriously. Among them
are the child protection protocols that specify how to react to concerns regarding a child. Teachers
have an important role to play in child protection. This lies not only in the detection and reporting
of possible cases of child abuse but also in multi-disciplinary teamwork, and in contributing to the
Lastly, Administrative courts are part of the system of checks and balances of the
modern societies, given that they still keep the task of protecting citizens from the powerful state.
The right to due process is crucial for the protection of human rights and is core to every
democratic society. As enshrined in the Philippine 1987 Constitution, no person shall be deprived
of life, liberty or property without due process of law. Public officials and employees shall perform
and discharge their duties with the highest degree of excellence, professionalism, intelligence and
skill. They shall enter public service with utmost devotion and dedication to duty. They shall

patronage. Ethics provide accountability between the public and the administration. Adhering to
a code of ethics ensures that the public receives what it needs in a fair manner. It also gives the
administration guidelines for integrity in their operations. That integrity, in turn, helps foster the
